The venue itself is located in the rolling hills of Surrey, near the quaint village of Chiddingfold. Famous for its glass making during the reign of Elizabeth I. With extraordinary glass making in its history, Chiddingfold is also the home to what I would call ‘la serre des rêves’ - The Glasshouse of Dreams.

An immaculately restored Victorian Glasshouse, which showcased an intimate set up, oozing with sophistication and elegance. The unique apricot framed, glass panelled venue, provided an opulent illusion of a barely-there visual. The sun blushed each area, revealing the interior decoration for full exposure, with every detail highlighted by the summers sun.

Warmth and love radiated from within, rolling out across the secluded grounds, terraced flower gardens and dappled woods, perfectly capturing that nostalgic feeling of stepping off a plane into the sunshine and in this case, walking out into the south of France. An indulgent balance of Victorian vintage with a contemporary touch made an exquisite backdrop for designing a stay-cation destination vibe wedding.

For the shoot inspiration was taken from the venue itself. The styling was bold yet respectful to the surroundings, with the use of dried flowers from a 'fallen door', teamed with handmade ceramics by Every Story, alongside flowing fabric throughout. The incredible gowns from Anna Bridal Couture were showcased in fields of long grass, cosy woodland and beautiful courtyards; with every feeling of a French destination wedding. The concept was to create a cohesive movement throughout the areas of the venue with both styling and photography.

For the floral design, Rebecca and Carla wanted modern arrangements with dried elements and neutral tones, incorporating dark foliage alongside whites. It’s so important that the floral design is in keeping with the venue, so that it enhances rather than detracts and feels natural in the space. Using the glasshouse as inspiration, I explored the contrast between light and dark and hard and soft. Using a combination of fluffy white roses and sweet peas alongside dark and dramatic smokebush and copper beech foliage, I created textural displays with drama and impact. For the glasshouse, I hung an installation of dried grasses, dark foliage and roses over the entrance which had beautiful delicate movement in the summer breeze. Rebecca and Carla hung a door over the tablescape from which I hung dried grasses and delphinium, for a really unique focal feature.

We took an eco-conscious and foam free approach to the magical florals, to create statement yet delicate displays. For the outdoor Italian inspired tablescape, I brought in some green foraged foliage alongside soft white Queen Anne’s lace and yarrow and contrasted this with the architectural lines of anthurium and dark chocolate cosmos. The bouquets and buttonhole echoed these two styling set ups, with the first being dark and dramatic with foliage and roses, and the second being more minimalist and modern. As always I used seasonal flowers throughout the designs to evoke the warm midsummer day that the workshop took place on.”

The layered tulle gowns were selected to compliment the fabric drapes and flow of movement created throughout the glasshouse. Perfect for brides who are looking for something lightweight yet glamorous, making each a great selection for a destination wedding. The medley of show stopping dresses from Anna Bridal Couture had embellished details which added an extra layer of sparkle to the elegant looks created. Each were complimented with handmade jewellery and accessories by Sash And Veil, DDiana Porter Jewellery, Emmy London, and Lori Muldoon Ireland. J’adore this chic venue! A true hidden gem, unveiling a French inspired fairy tale!
