60s Mod Wedding Inspiration: A Celebration of Life, Love, and Dancing!

In today's landscape, celebrating anything can feel wrong, especially when so many are suffering. But, love is healing, and so is joy. So, while it may be difficult, we as a society must continue to move forward and generate happiness and hope. This team joined up to create a wedding inspiration that did just that. Traditional wedding elements meet '60s mod to create a fun, whimsical celebration of life and love.

Lligabosc wanted to create a beautiful, healing inspiration shoot that would encourage couples to get excited about celebrating their own weddings. A blank space like this industrial warehouse venue is perfect for a mod-inspired wedding. These photos by Ocho Milimetros are all about lighting, whether it's the romantic flicker of candles or the enchanting sparkle ricocheting off of suspended disco balls. DANCE AGAIN

We refuse to abide by the “new normal” it's time to dance again! Life cannot be comprehended without dancing. Life must be our dancing companion. We have to dance with the new way of living celebrations, dance with another rhythm-an an admirable rhythm and a passionate one. This shoot, affectionately titled, "Dancing is Banned" was born from that same passion, an inspiration to all the couples that could not celebrate their weddings in 2020, an inspiration to discover that it is not the “where” that matters, but everything that revolves around it and the passion it is lived with. We understand that dancing must be restricted, but we want everybody to dance the way they want, even without moving, but dancing in their souls alongside the rhythm of emotions and happiness.

OPPOSITES ATTRACT

All this, we did in Lleida, Spain, displaying a wedding with sustainable decorations and local origins, heavily influenced by the '60s space materials and aesthetics. An industrial warehouse, a couple, and something to celebrate were the starting points. Disco elements, flowers, botanical ornaments, wrought iron, silken fabrics, and candles were the main elements of this decoration. Most of the time, in the strength of earthy materials, their resistance, and resilience, there is an underlying beauty, smooth and romantic. The junction of eternal opposites.

Burning candles in glass holders create a romantic ambiance

The chosen colors that served as the basis for this styled shoot are Pantone’s Colors of The Year for 2021. PANTONE 17-5104 Ultimate Gray and PANTONE 13-0647 Illuminating, two independent colors that, though apparently unrelated, create new inspiration when combined. We envisioned a practical and solid projection, in harmony with the materials of the warehouse, but at the same time, a warm and optimistic atmosphere that was achieved through floral decoration, which transmitted hope through strength, optimism, and positivity.

STRONGER TOGETHER

In this context where the soon-to-be-married couples seek a way to strengthen themselves with energy, clarity, and hope to overcome a situation of sustained uncertainty; encouraging and lively tones can satisfy the need for vitality. This idea was reinforced in the ceremony and main tablescapes.

DISCO NIGHTS

Weddings should be fun, and because of that, we created a disco-inspired second space, full of decor ideas. The disco balls became the main characters, filling the party ambiance with the perfect dose of glamour and shine, perfect for our couple. The '60s aesthetic was completed with a bold change of look for the bride. And yes, we fell madly in love with all the irresistible details! We are talking about the shine and light, encapsulated in all the little things for our shimmering peculiar wedding. If you do not want to say “I do” in a traditional space, we offer you this alternative, as an inspiration. Let’s celebrate!
