A Rebellious Purple Themed Elopement With A Nordic Bath Finale

Stylish couple embracing amidst moody floral decor

France is definitely bringing the heat with this new elopement destination and things are bound to get a little steamy. Always on the cutting edge of fashion, this team wanted to push wedding traditions aside and create their own unique experience. Focusing on the color purple, this elopement is dark and moody with definite badass energy. Tats? Show 'em. Rings? Who needs 'em? Greens? We got branches. Any questions?

It is rare to come across a styled shoot that focuses so much on darkness and shadow, but in these moody photos by Fanny Auer, it so works! Sous Le Charmes worked closely with Hotel 48° Nord to design this non-traditional elopement shoot. Bleu Et Coquelicot had to rely on branches alone to create fullness in all of these spectacular florals that you'll see throughout. You can see all of the images in the full gallery. Be sure to read on to hear more from Photographer, Fanny Auer. Oh, and you'll want to scroll all the way down on this one...two words: Nordic Bath.

A BRAND NEW DESTINATION

Chic fireplace adorned with flowers and candles indoors

We decided to have a styled shoot in France in the beautiful new Hotel 48° Nord, located in Alsace in the far East of the country, close to the border with Germany. The hotel has a Scandinavian « Hygge » feel and the rooms are « Hytte »  from Denmark created by the architect Reiulf Ramstad alongside Emil Leroy-Jönsson, owner of the place. Emil, who wanted both his cultures to be embodied in one place, has worked hard to create a minimalistic and eco-friendly venue to relax and reconnect with nature. With our team of professional vendors, all located in Alsace, we wanted to work on a creative photoshoot that would inspire people from around the country to get married at the Landscape Hotel.

THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX

Elegant table setting with candles and floral arrangement

We chose to go beyond the minimalistic feel of the place to spice it up a little bit and help future brides and grooms with different colors and flower inspirations. The venue was amazing because of its beautiful lighting and very minimalistic setup which allowed us to be as creative as we wanted. Our inspiration was mainly colors and materials: purple, black, and copper. Our main idea was to bring back a dream of spring, full of purple and pink flowers (some homegrown like the magnolia) coming to life, in the middle of the cold winter weather.

The colors and decorations were chosen to bring warmth, without any foliage. The touch of gold copper helped to enhance the decor and models. The florist and wedding designer kept in mind that the warmth had to come from only branches, from the arch to the table decor and the bridal bouquet: a very unconventional looking but extremely delicate and different flower composition.

REBELS

To talk more specifically about our couple, they both have a vibe of the adventurous rebel couple, Bonnie and Clyde but also have that special Jim Morrison touch. We chose for the bride and groom to wear unconventional colors and rock the colorful feeling of the day. Purple was the main inspiration throughout the whole photoshoot.

The wedding gown is full of glitter with a sexy feel that was inspired by the '70s. The bride needed to appear fearless and strong. Instead of exchanging rings, the couple had an exchange of handmade bracelets created with an amethyst stone representing strength and wisdom. The ceremony took place in front of the hotel's fireplace, full of warmth and an ideal location to exchange vows. Finally, they were able to finish off their day by relaxing in the Nordic Bath.
