Alt Culture Meets Classic In This Unique Styled Shoot

Lace and tradition meet tats and piercings in this unexpectedly classic inspiration shoot that proves that you can never judge a book by its cover. This is precisely why it is so important to collect inspiration images for your wedding before you sit down with any of your vendors. We love the dichotomy of this shoot–the alt couple with their body art and disheveled man-bun bring the perfect edge to an otherwise traditional wedding design...and it so works! Don't type-cast yourself. If you're a goth girl who's always dreamed of an all-white wedding or a preppy couple who wants to ditch the cufflinks and pearls for something totally unconventional...you do you! The one thing to keep in mind when pushing yourself outside of your normal comfort zone is to choose elements that will age well–think timeless instead of trendy. 

These photos by Anna Beth walk the line between bright and moody. Dreamboats and Carousels planned this timeless wedding inspiration and created all of these incredible florals, including the abstract crawling floral installation! A&A Video was there to film and even brought their drone to capture some awesome aerial footage of Thicket Priory. A CLASSIC LOOK 

A fantastic team of Yorkshire suppliers (North England) created this inspirational wedding shoot to demonstrate how the style and beauty of a smaller wedding do not need to be compromised despite potential pandemic restrictions. The opulent bridal suite at Thicket Priory is worthy of a shoot in itself! Grand, spacious, elegant, modern, and characterful, it's the perfect space to get ready before the wedding. Hair By Megan Boyne and Sonia Schofield MUA styled model Bryony's two beautiful looks: a curled half-up hairstyling with the delicate hair accessories from Sixpenny Bride for the ceremony look, followed by a full updo for the evening look with another glamorous hairband. Sonia created a classic glam makeup look for the ceremony, followed by a dark lip and enhanced eye makeup for the reception look. 

The change in bridal looks also coincided with the two dresses provided by, local boutique, Treasured Brides from the 'Essence of Australia' design collection. A strapless and delicate gown was chosen for the ceremony look followed by a glamorous long-sleeved dress for the evening look, transforming the bridal look into full party mode! Haworth Menswear provided the gorgeous suit for model Liam–grey with a discrete dark green checked pattern that tied it in with the color palette perfectly. It also shows how grooms can make a stylish statement with their look on the wedding day too! The ensembles were completed with silver and emerald rings provided by the London Victorian Ring Co. 

The wild greenery with pops of white displayed a classic wedding floral design with a modern wilderness twist: an unconventional spin on the conventional color scheme. Subtle notes of black and silver were added to the color palette to enhance the contemporary styling. The three-tiered statement cake by Charlotte Wilcox Cake Design, with its delicate textures, added a real WOW factor alongside the stylish shortbread wedding favors. The flower outline details align perfectly with the stationery design by Bobbin And Beau and brought the whole look together. Bobbin And Beau also designed frosted signs with classic and personalized messaging such as 'You are my favorite feeling'. Adding unique phrases to the detailed aspects of the wedding design is so important for conveying personality and each couple's individual love story. 

SAFE AND STYLISH 

There was simplicity and minimalism, while still being modern and creating impact. We ensured that the ceremony set up displayed a beautiful option for socially distanced seating-with the set up being in the lower level of the ballroom of Thicket Priory. Large venues will often have smaller separated areas that can suit smaller ceremonies without feeling like there is too much surrounding space. It's about getting creative with the space and styling. The same goes for the ‘U Shape’ reception seating set up–arguably much more sociable than one long table and allows guests to have a truly intimate dining experience with their nearest and dearest while remaining safely distanced. Baba Ganoush York created an incredible three-course menu that showcased their spectacular culinary skill and presentation–a treat for the eyes and the taste buds. The vivid colors ooze contemporary style. 

A FURRY SURPRISE 

We had a beautiful dog in the styled bridal shoot to show that Thicket Priory is dog-friendly! It also adds that extra personal touch to the inspirational editorial. If you have to limit your guest count, why not invite a furry friend along? After all, weddings are about celebrating love with our nearest and dearest, having your beloved pet present is always a delightful option!
