Have you ever wondered how to creatively use a canoe on your wedding day? Jessica Wonders and a group of creative talents did, and decided to take the idea to new heights (literally) by suspending a canoe above a table and filling it with flowers.

Summer lovin' in minnesota

From Eric Lundgren Photography: The inspiration behind this styled shoot was Minnesota summers. Minnesota is the land of 10,000 lakes after-all, so many people have a love for the Minnesota #lakelife in the summer. It's where we spend our time swimming, boating, canoeing, kayaking, etc. From that the idea of involving a canoe came into play.

Once we found the dress, we were able to pick some of the colors of the floral in this floral print gown to then be used as our overall color scheme, so we ended up with butter yellow, sage greens, and blue. It was easy to incorporate these colors using the floral design, as well as using the table-scape plate setting.

yES, THAT'S A REAL CANOE

At first the plan was only to use a canoe on the water with our bride + groom and add floral. In true creative fashion we decided to take the canoe idea a step further, and design a free-standing contraption that holds a canoe upside down. Hanging a canoe upside down wasn't quite enough, we needed to add flowers as well. The overall style of this shoot is whimsical with touches of the North. We used mixed metals when designing the table-scape, which consisted mostly of copper and gold. You will notice the blue marble plates, and also in our stationery, you will see the pops of blue and yellow.

Our bride and groom models are a real couple because you just can't beat the chemistry of a real life couple. When we learned they had a beautiful dog, it was a no-brainer to involve sweet Ellie as our doggy model, and of course, she had to have a collar clip on of fresh flowers too!
