Steal These Paris Wedding Ideas For Your Wedding Anywhere

My favorite movie ever, Bridesmaids, had a Paris inspired bridal shower, so what's to stop you from harnessing some of that same tré chic style for your wedding day? This wedding inspiration was the brainchild of Linda McGowan, owner of A La Francaise Events, and she wants you to do just that. Your blue and gold French wedding doesn't necessarily have to be in France and here is how to bring the Parisian vibe to your big day!

This styled shoot was planned and organized by A La Francaise Events, an event planning company that brings French elegance to California weddings. The owner, Linda McGowan, was born and raised in Paris and loves blending French and American styles in her wedding designs. This photo shoot was inspired to show American couples how Parisian romance, elegance, and sophistication can be woven into modern-day wedding designs. A talented team of local professionals was brought together to deliver this magnificent shoot.

The Location

The shoot was held at the Shangri-la Paris in their crown jewel, L’Appartement Prince Bonaparte. This suite’s luxurious decor and generous size suggest the comfort and privilege of staying in French imperial Prince Bonaparte’s private apartment. L’Appartement Prince Bonaparte is listed as an official historical monument, for its beamed ceilings, castings, gilt work and decorative carvings. It is completely finished in marble, with crystal fixtures and accents, and features high ceilings and large windows through which abundant natural light cascades. Interior details, inspired by authentic motifs from Prince Roland’s era, add refined detail to the suite’s elegant atmosphere.

The Colors

The color palette was blush and powder blue with a touch of gold. Sweet Creations provided a stunning cake painted with a swirl of soft watercolors and adorned with a delicate gold leaf and sugar flower arrangement showing off the artistic savoir-faire of Parisian gastronomy. The color palette maintained from L’Appartement Prince Bonaparte to the magnificent Point Alexandre III Bridge’s soft blue painting and gilded sculptures.

The Table and Details

The Prince Bonaparte dining table was decorated with ornate French dinnerware collected over years of antique market shopping by Vaiselle Vintage. Long white candlesticks and organic intimate centerpieces complimented the beautiful dining wall paintings. Reflets-Fleurs brought a pop of color and energy to the dining room with their gorgeous floral arrangements matching the richness of the suite and perfectly blending with the soft color palette. Throughout the shoot, every little detail was carefully selected and thoughtfully integrated into the design from vintage accessories to velvet ring boxes and gorgeous invitations made of hand-torn paper with a gold wax seal and vintage stamps designed by Ivy Cousin.

The Style

The bride wore a series of three designer gowns generously provided by La Mariee Capricieuse. The dresses were sequenced starting with angelic, ethereal silk followed by a mermaid silhouette lace and culminating with an elegant gown fit for a princess. The bride performed ballerina poses wearing pointe shoes adding elements of delicacy and purity. The shoot took on a different life as the bride made her way to the Shangri-la grand staircase in her breathtaking princess gown amplifying the grandeur of this already luxurious Parisian venue. As with any Parisian photo shoot, we could not resist photos of the bride and groom with incredible views of the iconic Eiffel Tower taken from the historic Point III Alexandre III Bridge. All photos were captured by the fine arts photographer Daria Lorman using film with digital backups in their signature light and romantic style.
