Why You Should Consider Turning Your Wedding Day Into A Wedding Weekend

Bride and groom share their first dance in sunlit room

There are plenty of reasons to make your wedding into a multi-day celebration, but it makes more sense now than ever! Guests are working harder to get to your destination, wedding parties are smaller, and many people can take their work with them so they don't necessarily need to request to take off for the entire stay. The thought of planning a multi-day affair may seem daunting but with the right planner and the right inspiration, you'll have everything you need to make planning a breeze and we promise you, the memories you make will be well worth the extra work. This inspiration shoot at an English manor house in the country is the perfect example of how to host a multi-day affair!

St. Audries Park is a stunning brick home in the English countryside and is perfect for a destination wedding. These photos by Jennifer Jane Photography and Sara Cooper Photography illustrate how you can get so many different (yet cohesive) looks from the same setting just by switching up the styling a bit. Flourish & Grace and Shropshire Petals created these stunning floral arrangements for each different part of this wedding weekend.

A COUNTRY GETAWAY

Elegant wedding stationery suite flat lay styled shoot

"When Land Met Sea" is an inspirational wedding shoot set in the English stately home, St. Audries Park. Set in 100 acres of scenic deer park, St. Audries Park is a short drive from the pretty coastal village of Williton. A winding driveway through serene parkland leads you to the dramatic gothic entrance of the private manor house, where panoramic views stretch across the rolling Quantock Hills and as far as the Bristol Channel. It was the perfect setting for a shoot that aimed to illustrate a quintessentially English wedding at a country estate.

ARRIVING IN STYLE

The shoot starts with the couple's limousine arrival the day before the wedding. The two go for a leisurely and romantic walk around the grounds of the estate, enjoying the deer. We then move on to the wedding day and the ceremony in the large orangery, where the bride wears the first of her dresses from Rachel Ash Bridal, and the groom wears a traditional morning suit from Peter Posh

KEEPING THE PARTY GOING

After the ceremony, the bride and groom change into a more relaxed look for some couple shots on the nearby beach, complete with a confetti throw of natural petals from Shropshire Petals and champagne by Chapel Down. The shoot then moves back to the dining hall of the estate for a wedding breakfast, which is styled to be in keeping with the countryside setting, with sage greens and soft oranges in line with the stationery from Hannah Watt Fine Art StationeryFlourish & Grace created beautiful romantic florals with big blousy blooms. The cake by Dreams And Wishes is a three-tier cake with green marble icing and gold leaf perfectly complementing our color palette. The shoot ends in the evening, with a more glamourous look for the couple–a strapless, sequin dress and tux. Pkay switched up the hair and makeup with a more sophisticated look of red lipstick and old Hollywood curls. And of course, no wedding would be complete without a sparkler send-off to end the night.
