the vision:
I am not a planner but I had an idea of what I wanted my wedding to look like and the feeling I wanted people to have when they were at my wedding. My vibe was simple, fun, elegant, and intimate. Our colors consisted of blue and white with small pops of warm colors. Penzi is who made all of my dreams come to life. I could give them the smallest vision and they would execute it just as I dreamed of.
I wanted the decor to really embody San Miguel, but also our simple yet fun vision. I loved how everything came together. One of the things I loved most about Casa Cariño was how beautiful and natural the whole venue was. I loved all of the greenery, natural flowers, and beautiful architecture. With that being said, we chose to let that raw beauty show and not go overboard on flowers. However, I loved the arrangements by Lupita Floreria on the tables, and I think they tied everything together perfectly.
the proposal
Throughout our seasons of dating, we spent a lot of time at his family's lake house. This lake house holds a lot of memories for us as a couple. On November 11, 2024, Foster proposed on the dock. One of the most memorable parts was the song "Invisible String" by Taylor Swift playing as he proposed. Seconds after saying yes, we were surrounded by our favorite people in the world, our family.
getting ready
In the bridal suite of the historic home, the ladies lounged in matching monogrammed white button-down shirts. We love a getting-ready shirt, especially because it's something you know they can wear again and again! Plus, the buttons ensure an easy exit so their hair and makeup stay intact.
the fashion
When looking for a gown, all I knew was that I wanted it to be something different. My mom is actually the one who spotted my gown in the store at the back of the rack. This dress was my favorite outfit of the day. It was classy, pure white, elegant, fun, and showed my exciting personality every day. Each one of my bridesmaids had come from different walks of life, but they all mean the world to me. I wanted them each to feel loved, seen, and beautiful at my wedding. To accomplish that goal, I let them all pick their own dress. The only requirement was that it had to be blue.
All of the groomsmen wore a tux. I wanted them to feel confident and a little fancy. I mean, who doesn't like a man in a tux? For the groom, he has always had great style. He wanted his tux to be a little different. He wanted it to have more of a "James Bond" look to it. I would say he accomplished the look for sure.
good food & good drinks
One of my favorite parts of wedding planning was the food tasting. I have to say Penzi made it a whole experience. I wanted the food served at my wedding to be a meal people remembered–from the salad and the roll, to the chocolate tart. All of my guests raved about the food. For the drinks, I wanted there to be something for everyone. Penzi made sure that happened. One of the biggest hits from our wedding were the coffee cocktails and late-night snacks during the dance party.
