the vibe: southern coastal
With CCS Events at the helm, this colorful Southern wedding was the perfect blend of tradition and personality, set along the river at Upper Shirley Vineyards. Guests were greeted with sparkling rosé, followed by spicy margaritas and Aperol spritzes, and enjoyed open-air cocktails under clear skies. Seasonal florals by Photosynthesis Floral Design, bright colors, and Virginia-inspired food stations—from oysters and crab cakes to salmon—captured the spirit of spring. Late-night fries and hot chicken sliders added a fun twist, while a Motown band kept the dance floor lively. College flags and cowboy hats reflected the couple’s story, and the Father of the Bride’s porch-side toast brought a heartfelt touch of home.
the invitations
They went with a timeless ivory stationery suite with embossed text featuring the robin's egg blue from their wedding design. Watercolor florals on the main invitation hinted at the rest of the vibrant palette that was to come on the big day.
the fashion
Ann wore an understated yet chic mermaid gown with structured draping along the bust. Her bridesmaids each wore a pastel blue dress in a variety of silhouettes that complemented their style and personalities. They each carried a vibrant peony bouquet that showcased the entirety of the color palette for the day. Timothy looked equally dapper in a classic black tuxedo. Later, the two donned cowboy hats, and Ann changed into a beaded mini dress to really get the party started.
the cake
For dessert, the couple decided on a four-tiered traditional wedding cake frosted in white buttercream frosting and decorated with fresh flowers. If you look closely, you'll also find a cameo from their fur babies. Then, Ann surprised Timothy with a groom's cake in the shape of a cap from his favorite team.
