Intimate coastal wildflower wedding in Northern California
When planning their wedding, Mu-Ping and Rob knew they wanted something intimate, relaxed, and personal. They chose to celebrate at Timber Cove Resort – a stunning retreat along the Sonoma Coast in Jenner, California. They had spent a lot of time in this area over the years, so it was the perfect place to honor their next chapter with their friends and family. Having everyone stay onsite made the weekend even more memorable since they could spend quality time with everyone beyond just the main events. Captured by Rachelle Derouin Photography, this couple in conjunction with their talented team of vendors created a truly luxurious coastal wedding experience.
Pro-tip: finding the right photographer
Finding the right photographer was super important to the bride and groom–not just to document the big day, but the quiet, candid in-between moments too. Rachelle Derouin Photography has a natural talent of capturing tender moments in an organic way, and the couple shared that they feel so lucky to have photos that capture their day through her eyes. They’ve since been able to relive the weekend over and over again!
A welcome party with personality
The bride and groom included many personal details throughout the event starting from day one. They hosted an open mic and jam session during the welcome dinner and left film cameras out for guests to snap photos - the results were such a delight.
Private pre-ceremony vow reading
Reading their vows in private before the festivities began was super sweet and helped ground the couple before stepping into the whirlwind of the weekend.
The couple's favorite things: staying on site
Looking back, the bride and groom's favorite memories were the quiet moments between big events – quality time with family and friends, the first look they shared in their room minutes before the ceremony, and watching the fog roll over the coastline at dusk. Mu-Ping and Rob loved getting ready with their friends next door, having their ceremony steps away from their room, and sneaking away to watch the sunset during the reception dinner.
Ceremony style: coastal wildflower
Their ceremony was a wildflower dream looking out over the coastline. The couple opted to keep it simple with natural wooden chairs creating the aisle and lush groups of wildflowers by Found Floral defining the altar area.
Perfect coastal portraits
The bride and groom snuck away to capture golden hour and blue hour on the coast with their photographer Rachelle Derouin Photography.

Minimal but meaningful details
Mu-Ping and Rob kept their details minimal but meaningful – for example, they enjoyed handmaking letterpress cards and writing love notes for each guest.
Dreamy wildflower reception design
The reception, planned with the help of Boheme Events, also played with the idea of luxurious coastal wildflowers opting for muted pinks, sages, and gold set against a natural white backdrop. White and woodsy wildflowers filled vases with elements of whimsy. Every detail was meticulous yet honored the natural imperfections.
