their love story
Linde and Denali met at a music festival in California when Linde was studying in Los Angeles and Denali was in San Francisco. Denali complimented Linde’s hair, and that was the beginning of a long-distance relationship. When Linde moved to Berlin, Germany, for her master’s degree, Denali sold his car, moved out of his apartment, and followed to start a new life together.
the destination: dubrovnik, croatia
During the preparation, the inspiration mostly came from long conversations with their planner, Yes I Du Weddings, about what they both loved, what brings them joy, what their family and friends would enjoy, and what symbolized their love. And of course, many Pinterest mood boards. For Linde and Denali, it was important to have all their loved ones with them, celebrating and feeling the love all around. They wanted the wedding to be in a place where they had special memories, and that was important to them. Whether it was the design, choice of music, food, or entertainment… they truly wanted everything to reflect who they are and what they cherished the most: a blend of cultures, openness, appreciation for beautiful things, delicious food and wine, and the best party that they would all remember for a long time!
the inspo: eucalyptus
When it comes to décor and floral design by Patrea, Linde and Denali were inspired by the calming, timeless, and elegant nature of eucalyptus—so the color palette was centered around eucalyptus green, with notes of blush, cream, and forest greens. The décor was kept in a neutral, soft palette with rose gold accents.
featured DIY: the stationery
Designing and preparing the wedding stationery was one of the highlights for Linde as the bride during the planning process. She hand-cut and sealed every single invitation card, table menu, and place card. Baby photos of Linde and Denali were used as table numbers, with their age matching the number of the table. Each place setting also had personalized letters and printed photos for every single one of the guests.
getting ready
Linde did a getting-ready shoot in the bridal suite at the beautiful Hotel Palace Natali in Dubrovnik with her fourteen bridesmaids.
She lounged in a white satin slip and flowing chiffon robe, while her ladies also looked radiant in sage satin sets.
the fashion
The dress was created by the talented designers at the Ukrainian brand Ari Villoso. From the first fitting to the perfectly tailored wedding dress, it took about 6 months. The groom’s tuxedo was designed by a Berlin tuxedo shop called Brummer Berlin.
a non-traditional first look
Instead of doing a first look with each other, the couple did a first look with their parents and their wedding party! We've seen individual first looks with parents and bridesmaids, etc., but the couple together—too cute! And just look at those happy faces. Who wants to wait for the wedding photos to see Mom and Dad's reactions?
honoring tradition through fashion
Just before the main course, the bride and groom changed into traditional Chinese wedding ensembles.
The red satin glowed under the light from the crystal chandelier and brought a vibrant, celebratory vibe to the reception space. We also love that this couple thought of everything, and even their parents' outfits coordinated with their reception looks.
the party
The ceremony concluded when 70 guests stood up from their seats, danced to the song ‘Shut Up and Dance,’ and performed the best flash mob of all time! The couple performed their first dance to a mashup of ‘River Flows in Me’ that transitioned into ‘Feeling Good,’ which perfectly represents their appreciation of the classics, of timeless traditions, and their shared love of a good time. At midnight, the DJ played "their song," the one during which they met 7 years ago at the music festival, and Linde and Denali had their moment dancing together with all their loved ones surrounding them. It was very special!
