crafting galore

Throughout the planning period, my house was full to the brim with kraft card, jute twine, paper doilies, lace, jam jars, mint green paint, and worn out printer ink cartridges! Between us (me, Ben, my mum and step-dad, and my bridesmaids) we digitally designed and hand made every little detail of the wedding - the invitations, table plan, order of services, signs, favors (which also served as place names), centerpieces, and decorations for the church and reception venue. I also made the bridesmaids' hairpins and personalized hangers for their dresses, the thank you gifts for my mum, step-mum, and Ben's mum, and customized my hairpiece, shoes, and veil.

Daisy theme

Along with the shabby chic theme, the complementary theme of daisies crept its way in. It started when I chose the gift for each of my bridesmaids - a delicate daisy pendant from Argento. I gave them to the girls not long after our engagement as a way of asking them to be my bridesmaids. They were all thrilled with their 'proposal', and of course said yes! From then on, daisies became present in lots of different ways. They were in the hanging jars and pew ends that decorated the church, hand-sewn on to the picnic basket that I turned into our card box, on mine and the bridesmaids' shoes, in the bouquets and centerpieces, on bridesmaids' hair accessories, and on the tea light favors in lace form.
