Talk about one elegant backyard wedding! We were completely surprised to find out that this resort like-location was, in fact, the backyard of the bride’s family home in Santa Fe, California. The rustic Mediterranean style looked gorgeous with deep shades of burgundy, slate grey, and shades of blue.

a few Rustic details

The bold burgundy and slate grey hues created a stark contrast to the more neutral tones of the house and the backyard. The outdoor reception featured stunning farm tables lined with dramatic greenery and eclectic slate grey lanterns. Sam and Matt are both from the midwest, so we incorporated a few rustic touches in including the farm tables and wooden cross back chairs.

The dinner tables encircled the distinctive aqua blue pool and Mediterranean style courtyard. The pool was accentuated with floating arrangements of rustic grey lanterns and bold garlands of greenery and burgundy florals. The sweetheart table served as a dramatic statement piece underneath an intricate gazebo adorned with lush natural greenery and twinkling lights. Delicate glass orbs hung above the sweetheart table added a romantic touch.

From the bride: One of my favorite moments includes the few minutes before I went down the aisle while still hidden from view. Seeing the ceremony décor and set up alongside the ocean and all of our family and friends was a surreal feeling—that all of these people were in one gorgeous place all together at the same time—a once in a lifetime moment.
