Colorful wedding in hawaii inspired by taylor swift’s eras tour
You'll never guess what inspired this wedding. Here's a hint:
Ok, that was more than a hint, it's that—exactly that—vibes, ombre petals, everything. And when we heard that, you know we had to see more, and this wedding did not disappoint! No, this couple and their team didn't recreate the Eras Tour for their big day, but what they did do is execute a masterclass in how to take inspiration and apply it to a wedding to create something truly unique. Alright, keep scrolling; we won't keep you reading any longer. We know you're here for the inspo and these gorgeous photos from Adventure by Karlie.

their love story
It took a year for Jenna and John’s friendship to evolve into a romantic connection, and once it did, their love story took off. During a haunted hayride, John asked Jenna if she wanted to grab a bite to eat afterward—a question led to a first date on the patio of a restaurant aptly named “Home.” Six years later, the pair got engaged in Seattle while overlooking Lake Union at sunset.
the vision: colorful and quirky
Jenna and John brought color and quirk to Hawai’i, where they tied the knot in an outdoor ceremony at Kona Beach Houses, overlooking the water. For their big day’s design, Jenna was inspired by the fabric from the opening of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, opting for an ombre color palette of purple, pink, orange, and yellow, and entrusted her vision to Sunshower Weddings & Events. Vibrant blooms by Lalamilo Flower Girl spilled out of baskets and adorned the wavy tree branch above the altar where the pair exchanged vows. Custom menus, linen napkins, and flowers carried the ombre effect across the table and into the reception, flowing from sunny yellow to rich violet.
the stationery
You seeing the inspo? We love that those famous petals played into every aspect of this wedding design, including this layered petal-like invitation suite by Typeset Creative. Let this be a reminder to all couples out there that your vendors are just as excited about your inspo as you are. So you don't need to present them with a detailed plan or a fully populated Pinterest board for them to recreate. You will ABSOLUTELY get the best work and most bang for your buck when you tell them the general vision and let them do their thing. Case in point.
the fashion
No, Jenna did not wear a rhinestone-studded onesie, but that would have been pretty sweet, ngl. Instead, she took the general tones from the famed fit and found a dress that spoke to her personal style and the overall vibe of the day. The romantic A-line gown from Watters had some subtle sparkle, a plunging neckline, and plenty of movement. We also love the hint of color on the lining. John also looked dashing in a tan linen suit—perfect for the tropical climate.
a very special guest
The “Lover” theme carried over to the reception, where ombre watercolor details, Taylor Swift-inspired cocktails, and a greenery-festooned llama welcomed guests to the celebration.
the escort display
A vibrant seating chart burst with colorful blooms and lyrical signage, directing guests to a long banquet table set under strings of bistro lights.
the entertainment
After dinner, the couple and their guests were treated to an evening of entertainment from indigenous performers with hula dancing, fire dancing, native music, and Hawaiian history provided by a local non-profit organization.
the cake
The couple selected a simple two-tiered buttercream-frosted wedding cake decorated with fresh flowers. But notice the unique placement of the flowers that makes it as much a work of art as it is a dessert.
