Inside the opulent & elegant Philly wedding everyone’s talking about
They met over bread and built a love story worth swooning over. When James walked into Cacia’s Bakery and asked Alicia for her number, he had no idea he was ordering more than just a loaf. The two fell fast, fell hard, and never looked back. Fast-forward to this summer, when Alicia and James transformed their love story into a weekend-long celebration across Philadelphia filled with heartfelt moments, elegant details, and a dream team of vendors, including planner Pronto Print House, who helped bring their classic-meets-modern vision to life.
The vibe: a weekend of "wow"
Instead of a single evening, Alicia and James leaned into the idea of a wedding weekend. From welcome cocktails to a party the night before the wedding, a late night afterparty and more, the couple made sure every guest felt like part of the story. Captured by Ralph Deal Photograph, family was at the heart of it all, with personalized touches throughout, handwritten notes, thoughtful favors, and a signature cocktail named after Alicia and James's puppy!
The bride: classic, clean, and couture
Alicia stunned in a structured gown paired with soft, romantic waves and luminous, natural makeup. Her bridal party complemented the look in mix-and-match dresses of black with a crew of her "something blues" in matching blue gowns, creating a palette that felt effortlessly elegant.
The groom: tailored & timeless
James kept it timeless with a black tuxedo and bowtie, while his groomsmen echoed the look with classic tailoring and subtle nods to Philly flair. Spoiler alert: In the evening, James changed into a timeless white jacket, while Alicia also slipped into her second look of a fitted gown with intricate bodice details.

The photos: rose garden portraits
One of the most evocative moments came in the Classic Rose Garden in Philadelphia. Framed by blooming rose arches and manicured greenery, the couple shared intimate portraits that looked like scenes straight out of a vintage film. The soft petals, lush foliage, and filtered sunlight created a breathtaking backdrop, capturing romance, effortless beauty, and timeless love.
The reception: a venue reimagined
The couple chose one of Philadelphia’s most beloved venues. Ballroom at the Ben, and elevated it with breathtaking design choices including custom privacy drapery that created an intimate atmosphere, ghost candelabras that gave the room a moody, ethereal glow, and lush white florals by Mullica Hill Floral Company that spilled down tables and stairways. Subtle design accents of soft lighting, neutral linens, and polished tablescapes made the space feel warm, curated, and completely their own.
"Loaf" was in the air!
Bread wasn’t just part of the bride and groom's meet-cute - it’s in their blood. James's family has deep ties to South Jersey's Liscio’s Bakery, and that legacy made its way into the wedding in the most unforgettable way - As the newlyweds made their reception entrance, The "something blues" hand delivered fresh loaves of Liscio's Italian bread to guests to the cheers (and happy tears) of family and friends. It was a beautiful tribute to where it all began and a delicious start to the party.
Private Moments & Italian Classics
As the night unfolded, James and Alicia carved out quiet moments just for them slow dancing together on an empty floor while classic Italian ballads played softly in the background. In a whirlwind weekend full of family, friends, and celebration, it was these hushed, love-drenched pauses that made it all feel surreal.
