the vibe: moody romance
Noel and Jonathan’s wedding at Il Mercato in New Orleans, designed and planned by ReverieNOLA, was, at its heart, an act of gathering. Based in New York City and shaped by a love that began during the quiet, uncertain days of the COVID pandemic, their greatest wish was simple and deeply meaningful: to bring their people together from around the world and let them experience New Orleans, the way Noel has always carried it—with warmth, soul, and celebration close to her Louisiana-born heart. Rain gently marked the day, softening the light and slowing everything just enough to make each moment feel intentional. Umbrellas appeared, shoes got a little damp, and no one minded. If anything, it made the celebration feel more New Orleans—unbothered, romantic, and alive.
the stationery
A chic monogrammed invitation suite set the tone for the day, with cards alternating between crisp ivory and a subtle peach. A floral-print envelope liner hinted at the spring theme.
the venue
Il Mercato, tucked into the city’s historic fabric, became the perfect backdrop for a day that felt intimate and worldly all at once. Family and friends arrived from near and far, filling the space with accents, laughter, and the unmistakable energy of reunion. The flowers by Antigua were elegant yet understated. There was a palpable sense that this wasn’t just a wedding—it was a long-awaited exhale, a chance to finally be together after years of distance.
the fashion
Noel wore not one but two gowns for the big day. The first: an off-the-shoulder lace mermaid gown whose texture mimicked the vines crawling up the side of the historic venue. Then, she slipped into a silky little number to dance the night away. Her bridesmaids brought the spring into the palette in a beautiful array of blush dresses. Jonathan and his men all wore classic black tuxes for the black-tie affair.
the second line
The true highlight came during the second line, when the city itself seemed to join in. As music spilled into the street, guests followed Noel and Jonathan through the rain with joyful abandon, waving handkerchiefs, dancing, and celebrating love in the most unmistakably local way. It was pure magic: communal, emotional, and utterly unforgettable. By the end of the night, it was clear that Noel and Jonathan had accomplished exactly what they hoped for. They didn’t just host a beautiful wedding—they created a shared memory, one rooted in love, place, and the simple joy of being together in The Big Easy.
