Bohemian Beach Wedding: A Joyful, Safe Celebration in Gig Harbor

Knowing what to ask of your guests can be so difficult in regards to health and travel, especially right now. The key is to ask of them what you (as a couple) need to feel comfortable and to feel like you are protecting yourselves, your loved ones, and your vendors to the best of your ability. True, everyone may not be on board with your requests, and that can be disappointing, but don't let it impact your relationship with them or the wedding as a whole. Express how important they are to you and consider sending those guests who can't attend or who opt not to a package with goodies and a cocktail kit so that they can still celebrate with you from afar.

This couple requested that each of their guests quarantine for the two weeks prior to the wedding. It was a beautiful bohemian affair complete with a jute rug aisle and an uber-romantic sunrise paddleboard session (that's a first for us!). Lanterns swayed in the gentle breeze and a gorgeous floral arch in shades of orange and white met our couple as they exchanged vows under a perfect cotton candy sky.

It was so important for this couple to have their families present for their wedding, you can feel the joy and love in these photos by Henry Tieu! J29 Events worked closely with the couple and their guests to make sure that they were keeping the wedding as safe as possible for them and their guests who were traveling from all over the world. The florals, designed by Lilyput, played a key role in this wedding design and bring whimsy to this classic beachfront wedding. SAFE TRAVELS

When planning their COVID wedding, the couple put family as their first priority. With family overseas and they needed to make sure that they could attend safely. Their options were slim but they found a stunning property in Gig Harbor that could house their entire family to allow for ample time together. They requested that their family and a few friends quarantine before their destination wedding week. Each guest happily obliged and quarantined for 14 days before they were able to unite for their wedding. What an ask!

FAMILY-STYLE

The couple loves color and texture so that played a huge role in the design process. We strategically spaced out ceremony rows and used fun jute rugs for added texture and functionality. The floral tree and Gig Harbor served as our backdrop for the evening. The cotton candy sky was gorgeous and came out after a few sprinkles earlier in the morning. Guests served themselves a family-style meal after we departed but the night was lovely.
