When Gianna and Conner invited 160 of their closest family and friends to Mexico City for their April 2025 wedding, they knew they wanted more than just a celebration—they wanted to create an immersive experience. With the vision and expertise of Karla Arroyo Event Architect, the couple transformed the historic Hacienda Santa Mónica into a world of baroque-inspired maximalism, layered textures, and show-stopping moments at every turn captured by EFEGE Photo.

Meaning behind Mexico City

Mexico City held special meaning for Gianna and Conner—it was the first place they traveled together just one month into dating. Their love for the city’s culture, cuisine, and vibrancy made it the natural choice for their destination wedding.

Featured designer: Rita Vinieris

Gianna stunned in a strapless textured jacquard ballgown by Alyne by Rita Vinieris, paired with her mother’s veil and her great-grandmother’s wedding purse. Aquamarine earrings, a gift from Conner after his proposal, tied her look to her engagement ring and birthstone.

Design inspo: architecture and art

For their wedding, inspiration was drawn from the grandeur of Mexico’s baroque architecture and the drama of still-life paintings.

Jewel-toned tablescapes

The reception design centered around jewel-toned tablescapes with emerald velvet cloths, saturated florals, layered china, candelabras, and gilded accents. Florals by Polen Flores spilled in abundance across tables, framed with taper candles and antique-style gold details, while a hand-drawn dance floor design from Look & Feel —complete with a hidden “C and G”—personalized the space in a way that felt deeply meaningful.

An elevated menu honoring Mexico City

Guests were treated to an elevated culinary experience curated by Eduardo Kohlmann Banquetes, one of Mexico City’s premier caterers. Dishes such as prime beef fillet with Oaxacan mole and sea bass with red pipián honored the city’s rich culinary traditions, while desserts like dulce de leche cake with coconut ice cream and deconstructed creamy lemon pie elevated the evening to fine-dining heights.

Creating a wedding day story

From tequila-pouring lines to surprise musical interludes, the couple ensured every guest felt part of a story unfolding in real time. Their first dance, set to "Dream a Little Dream of Me" by The Mamas & The Papas, was a dreamy nod to timeless romance.

On trend: extra-special entertainment

Entertainment was woven throughout the night. During dinner, an ensemble performance by La Loca created a “dinner and a show” atmosphere, as Gianna and Conner moved from table to table, sharing intimate moments with their guests. Later, a saxophonist - La Loca del Sax - reappeared alongside the DJ, adding layers of energy to the dance floor, which pulsed well past midnight.

Room for traditional elements

Opting for a small, traditional cake, the couple instead prioritized immersive guest experiences over formality, creating a wedding that was equal parts glamorous and joyful.
