their love story

couples portrait ideas for wedding

They met the old-fashioned way, at a bar in NYC called VYNL in 2017, being authentically and perfectly themselves. Andrew was wearing a Colgate half-zip sweatshirt, which is where Allie’s siblings went to college. This gave her the courage to go over and say, "Hi." The rest is history! Their love story happened when they both least expected it to. Allie just started law school, and Andrew just graduated from college. They met young and grew up side by side, evolving into the best versions of themselves and becoming not only partners but best friends. Although they are similar (in their competitive nature, love for sports and restaurants, and being social), they challenge each other to try new things and embark on countless adventures (like swimming with sharks in the Galapagos!). They've been there for each other through all of life’s highs and lows, giving one another space to be individuals while building their life as a team.

Allie grew up in South Florida and always dreamed of a Florida wedding. Coincidentally, Andrew grew up vacationing at the Breakers with his family, and specifically his Aunt Barbara, who passed away a few years ago. That made the decision easy for both of them. Of course, the Breakers is iconic, historic, and the most beautiful setting to get married at, making that the cherry on top!

They were so excited to celebrate with all of their favorite people in one of their favorite places and wanted the weekend to reflect how special they felt that everyone came to celebrate them and their love. Throughout the seven years of dating, one thing never changed: Allie and Andrew remained social and loved to go out, so it was also important for everyone to have the best time!

the vision: playful palm beach pastels

pastel floral chuppah

Everyone describes the planning process as so stressful, but luckily, I had the best planner and vendors to make the process seamless. Posh Party Gal and the team at Renny & Reed flawlessly brought my vision to life, and my mom was my sidekick throughout it all. Andrew chimed in on the parts that were most important to him (like having trees and a surprise choir when we kissed under the chuppah!), but luckily, we were all in sync and just wanted to plan the best weekend. It was important to me to have color to echo our vibrant personalities and our love for fun! We also wanted unique designs along with personalized touches to make the wedding feel like us. We have been to so many weddings, so we wanted ours to stand out for its unique details and to be a reflection of us as a couple. Every last detail was thought about and discussed, leaving us with the most special wedding designs. From the centerpieces (trees and vine-filled candelabras) to the marbleized dance floor to the personalized napkins and custom bars and “party-favor” Patron shots at the end, the design was perfect. We even had sparklers throughout the night to get the party going!

the invitations

pastel wedding invitation suite

Your wedding invitations set the tone for the wedding and give your guests a taste of what's to come. We love that, for their invitation suite, this couple incorporated architectural details and paintings of the venue into the invitations to get everyone pumped about the getaway! Also, note the vintage stamps on the envelope; this little detail is such a vibe and worth the extra effort.

Allie and her ladies sipped champagne in cozy matching pajamas and socks while they got ready for the big day. Then, after her hair and makeup were done, she slipped into her wedding dress with a little help from her Maid of Honor and her mom, who put the finishing touches on the look.

the fashion

For their elegant black-tie wedding, Allie chose a stunning lace ballgown by Lee Grebenau with a removable long-sleeve lace bodice for the ceremony. Andrew looked equally dapper in a tailored black tuxedo with velvet loafers. Then, when it was time to get the party started, Allie swept her hair up into a ponytail and threw on a stunning beaded and feathered mini dress from Galia Lahav.

Escort walls are the perfect opportunity to be creative and showcase the underused colors in your palette. We love this sweet and simple display. The couple labeled envelopes with the names and table numbers for each of the guests and a postcard from the venue that doubles as a souvenir from their trip.
