the welcome party
With guests arriving at different times throughout the day, we love the idea of an open-ended welcome party like this. Guests sipped cocktails and lounged by the pool as they settled in, giving them the opportunity to unwind from the trip and socialize a bit in a laid-back, informal environment.
the vision:
If you are going to go all the way to Italy, you might as well enjoy a perfect wedding weekend. The couple began their celebration with a pool party, and all the events followed at Borgo Stomennano, surrounded by woods, vineyards, and olive groves. Following their beautiful ceremony, designed by Lauryn Prattes, the reception was unique, as the table curved to complement the venue and the landscape with pink and green throughout, amplifying the already beautiful space.
every last fit
The bride and groom each wore not one, but FOUR different looks throughout their wedding weekend—yes, please! They started off strong with some chic poolside attire, with the bride in an ivory bikini and crocheted lace skirt. Then, for the rehearsal dinner, she switched things up with an adventurous blue and yellow high-low gown by Carolina Herrera with a dramatic cape detail. For the big day, she wore a sculpted Oscar De La Renta gown with large 3-D flowers framing the neckline. When it was time to cut the cake, she changed once more into a colorful, floral lace dress with champagne lining. The groom also brought it when it came to fashion. He wore a laid-back button-up and trunks to the pool party and changed into a chic sky-blue linen suit for the rehearsal dinner. For the ceremony, he sported a classic black tux and swapped the black jacket for a white dinner coat for the reception. We love a groom who likes to make an entrance too!
the escort cards
So many couples feel the need to go over the top with their escort cards and display, but let this luxury destination wedding be your reminder that sometimes less is more. For their escort cards, the couple opted for a chic, heavyweight cardstock featuring their guests' names and table numbers—short, sweet, and to the point.
the food
Let's be real, half the point of planning a destination wedding in Italy is the food...right??? From the passed hors d'oeuvres to the impressive spread, we wish we could have crashed just the cocktail hour!
the cake
The bride and groom put the finishing touch on a traditional Italian millefoglie topped with fresh berries for dessert. Between the interactive element, the fit change, and the cold sparks, we love that they really made it a moment.
