Renee + Joe | Red Rose Petals Wedding in Philadelphia
"Even though Joe & I met and fell in love in Los Angeles, we wanted to have an East Coast wedding. It just made the most sense for us, as we are the only two in either of our families on the West Coast! Since Los Angeles basically only has one season (“nice”), we were craving some real weather, and decided on a fall wedding in the heart of Old City Philadelphia, I knew right away I didn’t want to do the expected fall colors/leaves/pumpkins theme. I wanted a soft romantic feel, but I also wanted to incorporate my favorite color, red. Before I even met my husband, I knew my wedding color would be red. We chose a palate of red, peach, blush, ivory and gold. Joe made all the vases for our centerpieces out of wine bottles. I made all the paper materials – programs, place cards signage, etc – myself, which was super fun. Ben Franklin was at our cocktail hour and he was a huge hit with our guests! It’s Philly after all, Ben Franklin is huge in Philly. We also wanted to have a crazy awesome dance party, despite the formal ballroom setting. I started the reception by surprising my husband with a petal cannon explosion as we kissed in the center of the dance floor, and then we started the party off with a fun choreographed dance. I am happy to report, we got a crazy awesome dance party- and so much more!" -Bride
