Ruby red wedding hosted at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego
With unique details inspired by other Weddings Chicks weddings, this couple hosted their ruby red wedding at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego. With plenty of whimsical details and pops of color, this gem of a wedding set against a minimalistic backdrop is the perfect inspo for any bride wanting that perfect pop (of color!) on their big day. Captured by Nikki Strekowski with florals by Lois Mathews, we promise this wedding will inspire a perfectly whimsical wedding at any time of the year!
Pre-wedding letter exchange
Because the bride didn't want to get too tearful during the ceremony, the bride and groom wrote letters to each other detailing their personal vows and read it to each other the night before.
Pop of color: red bridal bow
The bride wore a gorgeous Dany Tabet gown that featured a show-stopping red bow.
Colorful ribbon bouquets
The bridesmaids wore red and pink fitted dresses from SOLACE London via Revolve with equally colorful bouquets tied with dripping ribbons.
Music inspo: musical theater classics
For their pre-ceremony and ceremony music, they couple opted for a mix of jazz standards and musical theatre classics played by a string trio. For the wedding party processional, they used "Falling Slowly" from Once, and for the bride processional they used "Till There Was You" from The Music Man.
Custom ceremony with meaning
For their ceremony, the couple's Episcopalian priest, Stacy Alan, officiated. Stacy was their college priest who had mentored them since the year they met. She prepped all of the guests a few minutes before the ceremony to familiarize them with the service. The bride and groom picked each of the readings, and Stacy delivered a personalized sermon.
