Jan and Carley said "I do" at snowy Lake Placid at the Whiteface Lodge in front of an impossibly large Christmas tree while fresh white snow sparkled out the windows. Their whole wedding day felt exactly like stepping into a Christmas card and we love, love, LOVE it!

December 1, 2018. Stunning winter wonder wedding day in Lake Placid, New York. Bride and Groom met in 2007 in Alaska on a cruise each with their families on separate family vacations. They kept in touch as close friends and their love story started again in 2012. Now they call Florida home and wanted their wedding to be magical.

The Whiteface Lodge was everything they dreamed of and even featured a massive Christmas tree in the room they were married in. They had the most gorgeous backdrop for photos with crisp white snow and stunning sunshine! The whole wedding party hiked through the snow for photos. Their ceremony was full of laughter and so much love. The first dance was to Can't Help Falling In Love sung by the MOH's sister which had everyone in tears. Bride and Groom danced the night away surrounded by their loved ones.

From Placid Planner Weddings

Jan and Carley were married in front of a real 30ft Christmas tree at the award-winning Whiteface Lodge in Lake Placid, New York. This is a two time Olympic village and Whiteface Lodge is highly listed as a 4 diamond on the Forbes Travel Guide. This Lodge is amazingly beautiful, especially in the winter months. Carley and Jan escaped the primary venue and headed to the waterfront site right on Lake Placid for their first look and formal portraits before heading back to the Ceremony in the Great Room.
There were 95 guests in attendance. This was a destination wedding for the couple and all their guests – with many traveling from warm sunny Florida and Puerto Rico for this stunning winter wonderland wedding.
Their venue was secured almost 24 months prior to their wedding date, due to the popularity of the venue with the Christmas tree just going up this first weekend in December. They hired their Wedding Planner soon after booking their venue.
