Picture perfect blue and white wedding with a hint of southern charm
The blue and white wedding trend is still going strong, but it's refreshing to see a new take on this timeless theme. Instead of leaning into the vintage chinoiserie vibes, this wedding kept the venue bright and minimalist and used flowers and linens to incorporate the color palette. They also added a touch of Southern charm. So, keep scrolling to read all about this beautiful day and to see more of these gorgeous sun-drenched photos by The Iris Image.

their love story
Some love stories begin with a spark, others with a slow burn that builds over years of friendship and shared dreams. For Seth and Caroline, their journey to the altar was beautifully woven through childhood friendship, college adventures, and the moment when everything finally clicked into place. Growing up in the small town of Cabot, Arkansas, Seth and Caroline first crossed paths in seventh grade. What began as a hometown friendship blossomed throughout their high school years and continued when they both chose to attend Arkansas State University and even selected the same major, Psychology. "It felt like we had always been a part of each other's lives," Caroline reflects. "We leaned on each other through the chaos of college, from cramming for exams to attending Greek Life events. "The shift from friendship to something deeper happened during their sophomore and junior years when Seth took a leap of faith. "Hey, I like you and would like to be more than just your friend," he told her, and as Caroline puts it, "just like that, it all clicked that he was my person all along." That summer marked the beginning of their romantic journey, and after three years of dating, Seth knew it was time to make it official.
the proposal
For their engagement, Seth chose a location close to their hearts, Greers Ferry Lake, where they spent many summer days together. Caroline had no idea what was coming until they arrived at the beautiful lakehouse. "It wasn't until we got there that I thought that I might be getting proposed to," she remembers. Seth had orchestrated a breathtaking setup: beautiful hydrangeas arranged in vases, flower petals scattered on the ground, and candles creating a romantic pathway. At the end of the walkway, he dropped to one knee and asked the question that would change their lives forever. The intimate proposal was made even more special by celebrating with their families afterward.
the invitations
Classic and sophisticated, this lovely pastel blue invitation suite is perfection. We love that they opted for blue on blue with the calligraphy, and you know we love a sketch of the venue like the one on this envelope liner!
the vision: timeless southern elegance
When it came to planning their wedding, Seth and Caroline envisioned a timeless southern celebration that would feel both elegant and energetic. Caroline described her design inspiration as "grandmillennial"—a perfect blend of old and new elements with plenty of blue throughout the celebration. Legacy Acres provided the ideal backdrop for their vision, hosting both the ceremony and reception. With the expert guidance of wedding planner Katie McIntire, every detail came together to create the couple's dream day. The ceremony incorporated traditional elements with sentimental touches, while the reception came alive with the lively energy provided by Diamond Empire Band.
getting ready
In the bright white bridal suite, Caroline surprised her bridesmaids with matching sky-blue pajamas, the same color as their bridesmaid dresses! Caroline lounged in a chic white robe with lace sleeves as she and her ladies got all glammed up for the big day. Her mom entered the room, dressed in a gorgeous asymmetrical cape gown, to lend a helping hand to her daughter as she slipped into her wedding gown.
the flowers
Caroline's love for hydrangeas (her favorite flower) became the cornerstone of their floral design by Silks a Bloom. "I wanted it to feel like you were walking through a beautiful flower garden," she explains. The arrangements featured a stunning variety of blue hydrangeas paired with white flowers and lush greenery that transformed both the ceremony and reception spaces into a summertime paradise.
the food & drink
Vibrant Occasions delivered a culinary experience that had guests raving long after the last dance. The cocktail hour featured an impressive spread including a beautiful chef's board with house-smoked meats and European selections, alongside creative passed hors d'oeuvres that became instant conversation starters. The Mac & Cheese 'Tini topped with Flamin' Cheetos and the BBQ Mac & Cheese 'Tini with shredded pork butt added a fun, unexpected twist to traditional wedding fare, while Cajun Shrimp Shooters provided an elegant touch. For dinner, guests enjoyed a buffet featuring Cabernet Braised Brisket and Blackened Chicken Breast with Cajun Cream Sauce, accompanied by Yukon Gold Twice Baked Potato Casserole, Green Bean Provencal, Caesar Salad, and freshly-baked dinner rolls. "There are not words to express how phenomenal Vibrant Occasions and their food is," Caroline shares. "We had so many compliments from our guests."
the cake
Sweet Lavender crafted a show-stopping six-tier wedding cake that perfectly embodied the couple's classic aesthetic. Covered in white fondant with subtle blue and white floral patterns, the cake featured blue and white florals adorning the bottom tier. The flavors were just as thoughtful as the design—two tiers of lemon cake with vanilla buttercream and lemon curd filling, while the remaining tiers featured vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream and mixed berry filling.
The Iris Image beautifully documented every moment of their special day, from getting-ready shots to the last dance. Their photography and videography perfectly captured the joy, laughter, and love that filled Legacy Acres.
words of wisdom from the happy couple
For couples embarking on their own wedding planning journey, Caroline offers this advice: "Budget for a great wedding planner! Having a wedding planner will help you set a budget and design the perfect wedding within that budget. Allowing yourself plenty of time to plan your wedding will give you time to save money and prioritize the most important elements of your wedding day." Seth and Caroline's wedding perfectly captured their vision of a timeless southern celebration filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. From their seventh-grade meeting to their Arkansas State University days, and finally to their dream wedding at Legacy Acres, their love story proves that sometimes the best things in life are worth the wait, and that your person might just have been there all along.
