This Coastal Wedding In Maine Is A Boho Dream Come True

Sometimes, smaller is better. Although their wedding didn't turn out exactly as they originally planned, this couple wouldn't have it any other way. Instead of their original large industrial venue, due to COVID-19, they ended up having their wedding in the bride's family's backyard. But this intimate wedding didn't lack in formality. From the luxury tent with hanging boho chandeliers to the incredible floral installations, this was still very much a big wedding, even if the guest list itself wasn't as big as it once was.

Pinch Me Planning worked tirelessly to make sure that this couple's wedding dreams still came true despite the global pandemic setback. They made sure that plan B still looked amazing and that everyone was safe and able to enjoy themselves. These beautiful candid photos by The Libbys Photo And Films really capture the love of this couple and their families (they also filmed their wedding video!). Celia Bedilia Designs was responsible for all of these incredible floral arrangements including the spectacular floral arch that is absolutely exploding with flowers! You can see all the images in the full gallery. Read on to hear more from the bride, Jamie, about how she and her hubby, Ryan, overcame the obstacles and celebrated their happily ever after.

FROM INDUSTRIAL TO COASTAL

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, we had planned to have a large wedding reception in an old industrial building in early spring. Our original design concept was romantic industrial with exposed brick and draping. When we redesigned our wedding to fit COVID-19, we opted for a summer open-air tented coastal wedding that incorporated beautiful basket lanterns, bright floral arrangements, and rustic elements. We envisioned the same spring/summer colors that would have been in our original design with a popping color combination led by pink!

TWO CELEBRATIONS IS BETTER THAN ONE

We had originally planned to get married on May 30, 2020. However, in a time of much uncertainty, we decided that the health and safety of our guests were of utmost importance. Our entire wedding was redesigned to create a smaller outdoor wedding. Due to the restriction on the size of events, we decided to have an intimate ceremony followed by a small formal wedding reception with immediate family and our wedding party. In the evening, we had a separate event that included food trucks and live entertainment with more family and friends. Although it was not what we originally had planned, it turned out to be a beautiful celebration with our closest family and friends. We are so thankful for Celia St. Onge and Pinch Me Planning for their planning, design, and coordination. We couldn’t have made it through this process without them!

Our favorite moment of the day was all of it! The private intimate ceremony we had in Jamie's parent’s backyard, surrounded by our closest family and friends was perfect. It was a very special moment for everyone during these trying times. We also loved being able to have two celebrations in one day with the open house-style celebration in the afternoon! The food was so perfect throughout the day, from Big Tree Catering at the formal sit-down lunch, to Luke's Lobster and Mainely Burgers food trucks in the afternoon. Although we had to narrow down our guest list, we were able to celebrate with so many friends and family that we had not seen in quite some time.
