the vision: southern charm in blue and white
High school sweethearts Jilly and Chase reconnected years later on Instagram and instantly clicked. After a cozy at-home proposal, they planned an elegant celebration at Hadden Estate at DGD Farms with help from Oakwood Lace and Co. The venue is a beautiful vineyard and blueberry farm that set the tone for their day. From the sunny outdoor ceremony to the fun-filled dance floor, the whole day felt refined yet also relaxed.
Inside the reception, blue-and-white patterned linens, gold accents, and textured florals filled the space. As their photographer, I loved how Jilly and Chase embraced the venue’s character. From their blueberry vodka lemonade signature drink to sunset portraits among the vines, every detail was intentional.
the invitations
A Robin's Egg Blue envelope with vintage stamps greeted guests in the mail. Upon opening, they revealed a custom watercolor illustration of what would be the ceremony site and a custom monogrammed invitation suite.
honoring those who couldn't be there in person
Weddings are always bittersweet because most couples have loved ones who can't be there in person. Whether they're sending their love from a great distance or they can only be there in spirit, honoring them by reserving a seat is customary, but we're loving how creative couples and planners are getting with these vignettes. From custom-printed banners to full floral installations, make a moment of it—not just for yourself, but for everyone else who will be missing their presence that day.
getting ready
Soaking up the sun on the front porch as they savored the last few minutes of calm on the big day, the bride, bridesmaids, and flower girls lounged in adorable cotton PJs. The bridesmaids sported floral printed sets, while the bride and the little ones wore matching ruffled numbers. The groom also enjoyed the morning with his groomsmen, taking a few moments to relax before suiting up for the ceremony.
the fashion
Jilly looked stunning in a strapless A-line gown with a long, flowing veil and a bouquet of white roses. Her bridesmaids wore soft blue floor-length dresses that tied perfectly into the overall palette. Chase wore a white dinner jacket, while his groomsmen kept it classic in black tuxes.
trending: custom bars
Gone are the days of utilitarian bar rentals that just served a purpose. Now, bars double as decor, from custom colors to full custom jobs like this monogrammed masterpiece. And don't forget the finishing touch—a matching bar sign and custom napkins!
the favors
We love a favor that guests can use in the moment, like these adorable monogrammed koozies. Merch is having a moment, and you really can't go wrong with a koozie.
the cake
Their four-tier cake with delicate floral detailing was surrounded by lush blooms, and a “Generations of Love” table honored their families’ marriages.
trending: private last dance
The night ended with a private last dance and a sparkler exit. It was truly a joyful celebration from start to finish!
We love this idea for so many reasons, but most importantly, because it brings you back to what the moment is really about—the two of you. It can be so easy to get swept up in the celebration that you forget to truly connect.
words of wisdom from the pros
My best advice for couples would be to lean into what makes your venue unique. Whether that’s the landscape, the colors, or even the local ingredients, make the most of it! It creates a cohesive look, inspires your guests, and helps your photos tell a meaningful story.
