Wild and Free Bohemian Wedding: A Dream Come True!

Bride and groom on farm, bride holding a chicken and smiling

Inspired by the love of travel, of being wild and free, and the love of each other, this bohemian wedding is a dream come true. Micah and Andie said "I do" at the Lyons Farmette, which allowed them to create the organic, loving, and energetic environment that they were hoping for, complete with their own personal teepee!

We got our inspiration for our wedding from our travels, our love for the outdoors, and both of our family backgrounds. We also have a love for anything wild and free so organic food, flowers, and cocktails were very important to us. We didn't want the wedding to feel stuffy, fancy, or overdone. The energy of any kind of gathering is set by the hosts so we wanted to make sure to create a fun, energetic, and loving environment. I couldn't commit to a set color theme for the wedding so I decided to have the bridesmaids in all white which was perfect in contrast to all the color on the farm.

Micah and I met the day before I left to travel to Central America for 2 years. He was in the traveling mood himself at the time so we became instant friends and kept in touch through pictures, videos, and stories of our daily adventures. We were friends for 3 years before we started dating when I moved back to the states. Our first date was June 12th, 2012, we were engaged by the following January, and married by August. We both knew from the moment we met that there was something bigger that was in control of the story of us.

I remember late one night, while I was in Panama and he was in Africa, I was watching a video of him dancing like a mad man in a church there in Burundi. I remember thinking in my head "I am going to marry this man someday". Little did I know that while I was away he would send his family and friends pictures of me and was hoping for the same. There's never been a question in our minds that we were always meant to be what we are today.

Looking back now it is hard to think of anything I would change about my wedding day. I am incredibly surprised and eternally grateful that it went as smooth as it did (mostly if you knew the chaos that constantly surrounds Micah & me). BUT!!! If I was to pick something I probably would have had my Free People dancing dress altered to my height without shoes. The grass was so soft and I ended up not wearing my wedding shoes at all. My dress got stepped on, tugged, and made dancing a bit difficult. If there's a chance you might go barefoot, alter accordingly!
