Two New Wedding Venues In Florence, Italy

Romantic couple embracing in a scenic European city setting

I have been lucky enough to visit Florence, and it's one of the most beautiful cities I've ever visited. I loved walking through the cobblestone streets and gazing at the breathtaking architecture from the Palazzo Vecchio to Brunelleschi’s Dome, which you see above.

I was so excited to hear that in 2021 this famous city will be offering two new wedding venues in the heart of Florence known as The Medici Experience. Both of the wedding venues are in the heart of Florence in the San Lorenzo square, headquarters to the Medici family. Both venues came together to offer a unique wedding experience in the heart of this historical city. I can only imagine how spectacular and exciting it would be to attend a destination wedding here. Luckily for us, WeddingInWonderland, a wedding agency that specializes in coordinating and designing weddings in Italy, shared with us a shoot inspired by the Medici family to showcase these two new wedding venues. Read on to learn more about the wedding sites and how to plan your Florence wedding.

Handmade Accessories

Let's take a moment to reveal in the accessories that Rosy Strati selected for this photoshoot. Each of the accessories pairs perfectly with the MAXMARA Berg feather-trimmed bridal gown wedding dress. The dusty-pink style is cut with a simple silhouette – featuring a sleeveless bodice, round neckline, and a belt-cinched waist.

Shoes
For shoes, she went with one of my personal favorites, Harriet Wilde. A lovely pair of velvet heels that wrap around the ankle. You can also opt to add embellishments in the back to make them even more extra. Below is a sample of the different decorations. You're even able to add a sole message on the back. They come in 5 velvet colors, Mid Blue, Blush, Bordo, Forest Green, Midnight. Each pair of shoes take 10-12 weeks to make, so be sure to order accordingly.

Hair Comb
Jennifer Wood of Mignonne designed the stunning handmade clip. The bride is wearing the Isabel comb. This come is made of a mix of rattan and brass flowers and semi-precious gems. I genuinely love it and wish I owned it myself.

Earrings and Rings
The earrings and rings are designed by a local Florence jewelry store, Barducci. It would be amazing to purchase a statement piece for your wedding that you will have forever to remember your destination wedding.

Florence Wedding Venue

In the heart of Florence, you'll find The Artists Palace, a historical library that was previously an old monastery dated back to 1351. The venue has exclusive views of the Basilica of San Lorenzo, Brunelleschi's Dome, and the Bell Tower of Giotto.

The ancient Library will be available for romantic ceremonies and music parties, while the Terrace, overlooking the Brunelleschi dome, could be booked for the aperitivo and rehearsal dinner.

The Artists Palace will also offer modern accommodation up to 48 guests, with 19 modern rooms featuring frescoes and decorative details of the Florentine Renaissance tradition. The Artists Palace can create the perfect package for a unique wedding experience between past and present, in one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

From Weddingwonderland
on the shoot

This editorial was possible contribution of several talented creative vendors based in Tuscany, who worked hard to create the unique setting inspired by the Medici family. Colors, materials, graphic and design elements have been carefully sourced and selected to create together with the two unique locations a mix of history and contemporary feelings. We used colors from the Renaissance paintings and the Florentine paper and themes from the Tuscan craft traditions.

On the other side we decided to go for a very contemporary dress and diamond earrings together with romantic accessories inspired by the Florentine madonna hairstyle to complement the historical side and set the whole experience in the contemporary era.

On a special note, the shoot was done on the 21st of February, exactly the day when the first case of Coronavirus was spotted in Italy. We finished just in time. Featuring it is even more important now to support the wedding industry in our country launching a positive message to the world. Italy will always be home to beauty and art, and we can't all wait to welcome couples from all over the world to celebrate their wedding in our wonderful country.
