Gilded Wedding Inspiration On The French Riviera

Elegant couple embraces in a bright room during wedding photos

It doesn't get more timeless than a black and gold color palette, but this team did an incredible job of balancing classic elements with modern touches. The vintage château adds an air of grandeur to the shoot which is given a modern update with sleek black velvet dining chairs and black-tipped silverware. The florals are also more modern in their reserved design that serves to enhance the beauty of the space rather than overpower it.

Alexandra WeissLa Blonde et le Barbu, and Les Mariages De Laura designed this elaborate shoot to highlight the beauty of the location and showcase how versatile this classic color palette can be.  La blonde et le barbu used the creamy yellow tones of Château Saint-Georges's gilded halls to inspire the florals. The gold details pop right off the page in these photos by Jeremie HKBJino Agnelli was also there to capture this incredible shoot on video. THE SMALL VERSAILLES

Les Mariages De Laura and Alexandra Weiss take you today to the south of France to Grasse, known worldwide for its fragrances. It is on the heights of the hills of the city, in the Château Saint-Georges that we carried out this inspirational shoot. Baptized the small Versailles of the Cote d´Azur, by virtue of its configuration, the estate favors above all the realization of small weddings, from 15 to 30 guests. We wanted to follow this idea and highlight the sober and intimate spirit of the place. The wedding designer, Emily, and Jérôme of La Blonde et le Barbu did a magnificent job on the scenography. It was important for us to pay tribute to the place while offering a different perspective on what is done at the castle. This is why we opted for a secular ceremony in complete privacy in the gardens of the castle and not on the traditional, well-known Gloriette. The entire shoot was captured and sublimated by the soft and luminous style of photographer Jeremie HKB, accompanied by Jino Agnelli on video. It seemed essential to us to highlight the work of the entire team with clean, poetic, and warm images.

BLACK AND GOLD

Ornate room with long table chandelier and black chairs

The Château Saint-Georges  stands out for its magnificent gilding, its period wooden floors, its wall frescoes, its indoor swimming pool, and the beauty of its tower overlooking the city of Grasse. The gilded moldings are found on all the walls and ceilings with a subtle touch of black present in particular on the various wrought iron stair railings and its magnificent glass roof. This place, representative of French elegance and refinement, inspired us with a romantic, poetic atmosphere with a touch of sobriety. Gold and black are the common thread of this wedding inspiration. In particular, we can find a golden reminder on all the floral arrangements, the stationery, the moldings of the wedding cake, the edging of the crystal glasses, the plates, and also the cutlery. Like the place, we wanted to integrate this touch of black discreetly as a common thread throughout the report, for example, on the candles, the wax seals, the velvet of the chairs, and also the groom's suit.

FLUID FASHIONS

Karine Brossard designed an elegant and discreet makeup look to stay in the spirit of the place. As for the dress, Marion Fera imagined a fluid and light dress in a beautiful fabric. On the jewelry side, we worked with Gibson Bespoke, an English designer. She chose gold pieces with white pearls that recall the theme and mood of the shoot. For the groom, a black tuxedo in Italian fabric from Igilles seemed obvious to us.

ADDING TO THE ATMOSPHERE

The stationery was designed by Dilani Schipper on handmade cotton paper with a touch of gold leaf. Laura from LB Cake Design made a magnificent wedding cake in the spirit of the castle, you can find golden moldings on the entire first floor as well as beautiful sugar flowers in the colors of the floral arrangements. For the ambiance, we chose to call on the harpist Cecile Bonhomme. We had chosen an atmosphere played on the harp for the softness of its music and the prestige that this instrument conveys. Cecile played the harp to accompany the secular ceremony and then for the opening of the wedding ball.
