their love story
Stuck in their family homes at the peak of the pandemic, Alessandra and Jason matched on a dating app and struck up a cheeky back-and-forth about when they’d finally meet. At long last, the pair went on their first date three months later when Alessandra traveled to see Jason in New York City. By the end of the night, both were certain they’d met their forever partner. Before long, Alessandra moved in, and Jason began planning his proposal. On a Friday evening, he snuck her up to the roof of their apartment building and asked her to marry him. After her enthusiastic “yes,” they returned to their apartment, where they found both sides of their family ready to celebrate their engagement.
the vision: bright and joyful garden party
When planning their wedding, Alessandra and Jason pictured it as an intimate but high-energy garden party to kick off the summer. The chic Italian villa aesthetic of Laguna Gloria, their lakefront venue, fit the bill perfectly. After a private ketubah signing, the pair tied the knot in a traditional Jewish ceremony under a lush floral chuppah of red, purple, pink, yellow, and peach roses created by the talented Wild Bunches Floral.
After a floral-forward cocktail hour, guests moved to the reception space designed by Wedding Day Girl, where all 140 people sat at a single long table, creating the cozy atmosphere of a big family meal. Bright floral centerpieces and glass hurricane candleholders dotted the table, adding color and texture. The party officially kicked off with a traditional hora dance, continuing with a live band and DJ, keeping the dance floor packed all night.
the fashion
In true garden-party fashion, Alessandra’s illusion dress featured floral details to match her vibrant sherbet-toned bouquet. Jason wore a double-breasted black linen tuxedo customized with their wedding date and “ILY” inscriptions to match the “I love you” embroidered on his kippah. For the final hours of the evening, Alessandra changed into a short cocktail dress with a sheer, jeweled floor-length overlay (and comfy sneakers, of course!).
the escort display
On a large display, the couple listed out "our favorite people," with envelopes featuring the names of each guest. Inside the deep emerald green envelopes was a little note from the couple and their table number. If you are stressing about how to display your escort cards, you can't go wrong with a timeless display like this one!
dessert
In addition to a beautiful two-tiered wedding cake, decorated in fresh flowers, guests were treated to an authentic Italian gelato cart for dessert. A sweet start to summer, indeed!
