$360,000 coastal wedding framed in floor-to-ceiling blush florals
Fargol and Kamran's love story began with a serendipitous swipe on Bumble and blossomed into a relationship full of laughter, adventure, and deep connection. After a romantic proposal overlooking the ocean on Highway 1 near Big Sur, they tied the knot at The Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Coast in March of 2025, blending the magic of the California coastline with meaningful Persian traditions. Captured by Shumanev Production and Niloufar Goli Productions, and planned with the help of Details by Haleh, the day was truly unique due to the blending of cultures. From a modern Persian sofreh aghd ceremony overlooking the ocean to a high-energy dance floor and signature cocktails, every detail reflected the couple's personalities to perfection.
Fairytale-inspired custom couture
Fargol wore a custom-designed fairytale strapless ballgown from Casablanca Bridal's Flagship store in Newport Coast that exuded romance and regal elegance. Featuring a sweetheart neckline and a form-fitting, embellished bodice, the gown was adorned with intricate silver embroidery, delicate beading, and crystal accents that shimmered with every movement. Layers of soft tulle and horsehair hem cascaded into a voluminous skirt, embellished with scattered appliqués that added texture and depth to the ethereal silhouette. She completed the look with a custom veil adorned with crystals and beading, a delicate tiara, and diamond jewelry—each piece enhancing the gown’s intricate details without overshadowing them.
Going custom: pros and cons
Going the custom route was a little nerve-wracking as Fargol couldn't see the finished product until the very end — but the Casablanca team truly went above and beyond to bring her vision to life. The result was everything she had dreamed of and more: a one-of-a-kind gown that felt uniquely her.

Blush-toned bridesmaids
The bridesmaids wore blush-toned dresses of their own choosing from Azazie—something Fargol felt strongly about so each woman could feel confident and beautiful. They chose their own hair and makeup style to reflect their individuality, creating a bridal party look that was cohesive, effortless, and personal. Soft blush and white bouquets with silver accent leaves further echoed the coastal romance, adding warmth and whimsy to the already stunning venue.
Music to fit the mood
For music, DJ Farjad curated a blend of Persian and American songs, while a live violinist added a romantic, timeless touch throughout the ceremony. Kamran walked down the aisle with Fargol's mom — a meaningful moment, especially since his family was unable to attend due to visa restrictions. He and the bridal party entered to an acoustic version of "Iris" by The Goo Goo Dolls, creating a soft, emotional atmosphere. Fargol walked down the aisle with her father to a string quartet rendition of Canon in D — a classic that made the moment feel even more heartfelt and unforgettable.
Ceremony: blending cultures, blending families
The ceremony was a beautiful fusion of Persian and Western traditions, making it incredibly meaningful to both the couple and their families. They incorporated a traditional Sofreh Aghd setup, elegantly adorned with symbolic elements representing love, prosperity, fertility, health, and a life filled with beauty. Some of these items included a mirror, candles, a book of poetry, honey, sugar cones, crystallized sugar, gold coins, decorated nuts, esfand (wild rue), decorated eggs, Persian mini-pastries, seven herbs and spices, flowers, needle and thread, decorative bread, wheat, fresh fruit, and herbs.
Persian wedding ceremony traditions
The bride and groom closed the Persian ceremony by dipping their pinky fingers into honey and feeding it to each other, symbolizing the sweetness and sustenance they hoped to carry into their marriage. Afterward, close family members presented them with gifts, mostly jewelry, in a gesture of love and blessing. This tradition, Heideh (or gift-giving in English) symbolizes love, commitment, and financial security.
Western ceremony with personal vows
The couple then transitioned into a Western-style civil ceremony, where they exchanged personal vows standing — adding a deeply emotional and intimate layer to the day.
Favors: custom mirrored candle
Each guest was gifted a candle adorned with a silver butterfly — a symbol of love’s beautiful transformation. A mirrored heart etched with “Fargol & Kamran 03.29.2025” added a personal touch to this keepsake from the heart. Every detail was a reflection of them: meaningful, magical, and unforgettable.
The romance of good draping
Soft neutral draping engulfed the reception space, creating a luxurious, romantic vibe throughout the evening and creating an environment where guests could lose track of time and enjoy themselves.
Blush and pink florals from floor-to-ceiling
The reception was framed in gorgeous blush pink and white floral installations from - literally - floor to ceiling thanks to Eddie Zaratsian Lifestyle and Design. Florals cascaded off of the long reception tables, while tall centerpieces appeared to float above the smaller round tables. Chandeliers with dripping white and pink florals hung from the ceiling, casting a luxe glow on the event from day into evening.
Luxury cake inspo: 7-tiers + 2 flavors
Fargol and Kamran chose two decadent flavors for their 7-tier wedding cake by Sugga’ Mamma Cakes. The first was Vanilla Lemon Strawberry — vanilla cake with layers of vanilla bean Swiss Meringue buttercream, fresh and tangy lemon curd, and fresh strawberries. The second flavor, Marble Mocha Chocolate Chunk, featured marbled swirls of vanilla and chocolate cake with a Mocha Swiss Meringue buttercream and chunks of semi-sweet Belgian chocolate.
Beyond the cake: even more dessert options
In addition to the cake, the couple served a plated dessert from The Resort at Pelican Hill: Chocolate Lovers’ Delight — a rich flourless torta paired with whiskey sabayon, blackberry ganache, and cocoa crumble.
After-the-fact advice from the couple
“Be intentional about carving out moments just for the two of you. Stay close, soak it all in, and don’t leave the dance floor. This is your day, your love, your energy—be fully present for it. The celebration will fly by in the most beautiful blur, so pause, breathe, and take it all in—together."
