Timeless “petals and piers” wedding with butter yellow accents
Hannah and Willy’s September wedding in Newport was a masterclass in "coastal chic" with a whimsical, dreamy soul. The couple wanted a day that felt both classic and timeless, yet infused with a soft, ethereal energy that reflected their own style. The visual heart of the day was the stunning yellow color palette, planned with the help of Cose Bella Events and brought to life by florist, Rococo Floral. The Newport Mansions were perfect for executing this aesthetic, all captured on camera by The Perfet Photo. With the help of an amazing team of vendors, the couple curated a seamless flow that allowed them to soak in the best of Newport.
The most delicate invitations
Very delicate off-white invitations with cream writing set the stage for luxury style.
First look: historic estate
The couple's day began at Elmhyrst, a historic estate home that provided a quiet, luxurious sanctuary for their preparations and a romantic first look.
A change of location for portraits
Following the first look at Elmhyrst, they headed to The Elms for wedding party and family portraits. The mansion’s grand architecture provided a regal contrast to the softness of the yellow gowns.
Soft yellow bridesmaid dresses
Hannah’s bridesmaids wore a sophisticated soft yellow, a hue that felt fresh for September and perfectly complemented the late-summer light. To lean into the whimsical theme, the "gals" carried delicate parasols, adding a touch of Gilded Age charm to the portraits.
Portraits literally elevated with a drone
For their final couple’s portraits, Hannah and Willy moved to the rugged cliffs of Forty Steps. The contrast of the crashing waves against the "elevated" fashion was captured via drone, providing a cinematic scale to their love story before they headed to The Bohlin for a sunset ceremony, cocktail hour, and a high-energy reception.

Romantic fabric draping
The floral design by Rococo Floral was equally elevated. At The Bohlin, the ceremony and reception featured towering arrangements on pedestals, softened by romantic fabric draping that danced in the coastal breeze.
On trend: fabric welcome sign
Guests were welcomed to the reception with a timeless black and white wedding sign with floral arrangements that acted as a nod to the arrangements at the ceremony.
Unique detail: sailboat bar menu
One of the most whimsical details of the day was the wooden sailboat with a sail that served as the bar menu for cocktail hour.
Timeless hydrangea color options
White, green, and toffee hydrangeas draped over the tables, while English roses brought classic luxury to centerpieces atop patterned linens.
After-the-fact advice from the couple
"Focus on the movement of the day. By completing our drone shots and mansion portraits prior to the ceremony, we felt completely present. The transition from the 'dreamy' morning at the estate to the 'fun' energy of the docks at The Bohlin allowed us to have the best of both worlds: high-fashion portraits and an uninterrupted party with our favorite people."
