their love story
Miguel and I met the first week I moved to Jacksonville Beach from Memphis, TN. He lived two doors down from me. We got to talking at a party, and the rest is history! When I moved to Jacksonville Beach, I had never even seen my place in person before. My neighbors ended up becoming some of my best friends and introduced me to my husband! My sisters like to joke that I am the star of my own sitcom!
the vision: citrus sunset
I told our planner, Collins Korman Events, that I was inspired by the sunset, and I really loved the idea of citrus everywhere! Our guests were given their table numbers with a little bottle of limoncello, and the estate table had an amazing lemon garland hanging above with citrus and florals running down the center of the table! It was absolutely beautiful. My florals were also colorful.
We wanted to find a venue that felt like “us.” Many of our guests stayed at the venue, and The Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island offered the “togetherness” vibe we were looking for. The property is also beautiful, and we were able to have our ceremony with the ocean in the background! I wanted our guests to just have a blast, and for family and friends to have plenty of opportunities to be together and make some amazing memories! I think we were able to achieve that the whole wedding weekend! Having the day after pool party gave our guests plenty of opportunity to hang out together and with my husband and me.
the stationery
Inspired by the tropical island setting, the invitations featured classic Florida pastels, illustrations of local flora, all sealed with a gold wax shell. The same motif made an appearance on the menus and wedding programs, which also doubled as fans for the outdoor ceremony.
the favors
Tiny bottles of limoncello served as escort cards and favors and really tied into the citrus theme. You know we love a favor that guests will actually use! But this couple didn't stop there; they also sent their guests home with monogrammed koozies and custom matchboxes—how cute!
the fashion
For the ceremony, the bride wore a stunning A-line lace gown by Martina Liana. The groom sported a chic ivory dinner jacket for the black-tie affair with a fruit-forward boutonnière. In a rainbow of color, the bridesmaids incorporated the sunset-hued palette. If you weren't sold on letting your girls pick their own dresses, these photos should do the trick. Then, for the reception, the bride slipped into a slinky crepe mermaid gown by Sarah Seven, accessorized with lace opera gloves and a matching bralette.
the cake
The couple cut into a lavish five-tier wedding cake decorated in buttercream frosting, live flowers, and dried citrus slices.
