Blue and white wedding with a coastal twist on the trend

When asked how he popped the question, the bride said, "Ben brought me to the site of our very first date, The Little Island in New York City, where we live. It was horrible weather with pouring rain, which was actually perfect for us because we met during a hurricane! Luckily, our wedding day was nothing but blue skies. He then planned a surprise brunch with all of our immediate family, which was the best way to celebrate the exciting engagement. After dinner that evening at the restaurant where we had our first dinner date out, Ben brought me up to a bar–the exact place where we met for the first time. Upon entering the bar, we were bombarded with screams from our closest friends and family, who all gathered there to celebrate our engagement."

While the overall vision was a "Coastal Chic" beachfront wedding, it was very important to the couple that there would be romantic, classic, and elegant vibes. Each design piece and element of the day was intentionally chosen by MDP Events to bring this dreamy vision to life. The day began when guests were welcomed into the ceremony with a beautiful sign by Sadgebrush Designs. The gorgeous banyan tree at The Resort at Longboat Key Club provided the most beautiful ceremony backdrop and was accented with full, lush florals from Victoria Blooms in shades of blues and whites.

At cocktail hour, the crisp, white, round bar from Palacios took center stage, while stunning linens from BBJ La Tavola brought splashes of blue accents to the vibrant green lawn. Sadgebrush Designs created the prettiest seating chart and lovely bar signs to complement the decor. At the reception, the fully floored sailcloth tent on the beach provided the perfect setting for the romantic evening. The tablescapes came to life with colorful linens from BBJ, tabletop rentals from Oak & Ash, chairs from Palacios and Oak & Ash, table numbers, menu cards, and shell place cards from Sadgebrush Designs, and luxurious centerpiece arrangements from Victoria Blooms. White bars from Palacios and beautiful bar signage from Sadegebrush Designs complemented the space perfectly!

Ben grew up with a Christian faith, whereas Alexa grew up Jewish. We worked endlessly with our officiant (Ben's family's pastor from their church in the suburbs of Chicago) to help us incorporate significant aspects of our faith's marriage ceremonies. This allowed us to feel perfectly ourselves on the most important day of our lives."

With mismatched colored dresses, the bridesmaids brought pops of color and style to the day! Their dresses perfectly complemented the stunning floral bouquets that they held and the ceremony florals that surrounded them!
