Summer camp reimagined at this coastal Maryland wedding weekend
For Katie and George, their wedding vibe was very much inspired by the venue - Sherwood Forest Clubhouse - a nod to the movie "Dirty Dancing" that even inspired the couple's first dance! Katie, the bride, had spent her summers at Sherwood as a counselor, so it was natural for the couple to host their big day at a place that felt so much like home. For their coastal Maryland wedding captured by Erica Lynn Photography and planned with the help of 2Hands Studios, the couple incorporated lots of blues and greens, which wasn't hard to do thanks to stunning hydrangea gardens and gorgeous natural landscape elements throughout.
Getting ready at a home away from home
Katie's parents have a waterfront home on the Sherwood property, which was where Katie and her girls got ready for the day.
Golf carts everywhere!
Cute koozies featured the golf carts that helped guests get around for the weekend and contributed to the summer camp feeling. Their wedding paper also featured more watercolor designed inspired by Maryland, including the Maryland blue crab and blue heron.
Featured designer: Essence of Australia
Katie chose an A-line satin gown designed by Essence of Australia with floral motifs throughout the dress and a full voluminous train.
The bridesmaids: Hill House
The bridesmaids wore Hill House Nap dresses for getting ready and then changed into blue floral dresses also by Hill House with bows on the straps for a cute and slightly coastal look.
The groomsmen: State and Liberty
The groom and groomsmen wore pale blue suits from State & Liberty. The ties were Stewart tartan - a nod to the groom's Scottish roots.
