A colorful Jewish wedding in Mexico that felt like a nonstop party
Jordyn and Jeremy met on Hinge in NYC in their very own classic millennial dating app story. Despite meeting in New York, Jeremy was originally from Australia, and Jordyn was originally from Philadelphia. Throughout the pandemic, once Jordyn moved back to Philly, their relationship grew deeper through plenty of Facetime calls before she ultimately moved back to NYC. Their wedding was the perfect reflection of them: fun, carefree, silly... basically, a big party! Because they want their lives to feel like a fun celebration at all times, it was exactly what they turned their destination wedding day at Puerto Raiz into, all captured by Somos Lumos and planned by Martha Ayala Weddings.
Playful stationary & signage
Starting with their invitations and continuing through their signage for the day by Cabo Favors, both the bride and groom wanted to avoid big, fancy signage and instead opted for playful options that just felt more like "them." Their invitations, in particular, set the tone with festive, colorful details on each piece.
Wedding style: thoughtful details
When beginning to plan, the bride immediately knew that the details were most important. Jordyn wanted each and every guest to walk away thinking, "Wow, that was so thoughtful."

On trend: dripping bridal bouquets
The bride carried a dripping bouquet by Blush N Roses of peaches, oranges, yellows, and delicate pops of blue.
Pre-ceremony tradition: a week apart
Jordyn and Jeremy opted to follow the Jewish custom of not seeing or speaking to each other for a week leading up to the wedding. The first time they saw each other was when she walked down the aisle, and it made for one of the most magical moments.
Involving family in the ceremony
During the ceremony, Jordyn and Jeremy had each of their family members say one of the seven blessings, a Jewish wedding ceremony tradition that takes place under the chuppah. The family members shared these blessings both in Hebrew and in English.
On trend: playful portraits
After the ceremony, Jordyn and Jeremy broke away for a round of playful portraits with photographer Somos Lumos and videographer Ever After.
Intentional seating: family style
Their long reception tables brought a warm and welcoming vibe to the space. The newlyweds wanted everyone to get to know each other, so family style felt like a natural choice! This set-up also isolated the dance floor in a way that emphasized the party element of it, which helped create the exact vibe the couple wanted.
Floral style: bright neutrals
The florals were bright and natural in order to fit within the natural environment of Mexico and Cabo, in particular.
Reception kick-off with the hora!
To kick off the reception, they invited all of their guests to take part in the celebratory Jewish hora. They had flown in a singer from Manchester, England, to perform their Jewish wedding songs, and it did not disappoint!
First dance: "Anyone" by Justin Bieber
For their first dance, Jordyn and Jeremy's opted to use "Anyone" by Justin Bieber.
A playlist to sing and dance to
The couple curated their music playlist to a tee with DJ CO to make sure that it was a playlist that everyone would want to sing and dance to all night long.
Wedding cake flavor: red velvet
Breaking outside of the more traditional options, Jordyn and Jeremy cut into a red velvet cake.
