This romantic wedding in an Irish castle was all about the greenery
We love it when a couple leans into their wedding destination for inspiration. Inspired by the lush Irish countryside and the castle-like manor they selected for their venue, they dreamed up a ceremony and reception space draped in hanging greenery and white flowers with accents pulled from the historic architecture. the vision
Some love stories are written in the stars, while others are woven into the rolling green hills of Ireland. For Erin and Joey, their wedding was more than just a celebration - it was a homecoming. While many of their guests visited Ireland for the first time for their big day, Joey was returning home to his roots in the Emerald Isle. Keep scrolling to see how this stunning couple embraced Irish elegance creating an unforgettable day filled with heartfelt moments, breathtaking scenery, and a touch of magic. Tucked within 840 acres of stunning parkland, the 19th-century Adare Manor was exactly what Erin and Joey wanted in a venue. Whether it was the historical charm, lavish experiences, or even the careful attention to detail, they knew they couldn’t go wrong with the Irish manor. Its castle-like look and stunning scenery paired perfectly with Erin’s wedding dreams.
Erin wanted to have a wedding never seen before! Something that looked nothing like the warm-weather weddings with pastel accents and oceans that she had been to. With the darker tones and castle-like elements of Adare Manor in mind, their hearts were set on a breathtaking experience of greenery and romance. With the help of Tara Fay Events, canopies and runners of lush green and white floral arrangements by The Garden turned the manor into a magical space of elegance and beauty. Accents of gold wove their way into the gorgeous setup, tying together the final look. All of these brilliant pieces worked in tandem with smaller, delicate details like printed logos atop the frothy foam of freshly poured beers and four-leaf clover charms that worked as a special seating chart.
their love story
The wedding that “kickstarted” everything for the couple wasn’t the first time they had met! In fact, they had met and exchanged numbers two years before they ever ran into each other again at a mutual friend's wedding. Like with any great love story, fate had it set, and from the moment they crossed paths again, the couple was inseparable. A proposal seemed to be a long way away for the couple, with the pandemic in full swing and both navigating the changing times. However, nothing was going to stop Joey from getting down on one knee. After suggesting a fancy lunch, he had his heart set on a spot, a special area on their local beach that they both loved to spend time at. Without any knowledge of Joey’s plan, it was Erin who suggested they should head to the beach on their way home from lunch. The rest of that night was history, shared with their closest friends and a glass of celebratory champagne.
the welcome bags
If you're having a destination wedding, welcome bags are a must! But these beautiful canvas totes filled with snackable goodies is proof that you don't need to spend a fortune on local delicacies, it's all about making your guests feel seen and comfortable–whatever that looks like for you.
the fashion
With the help of stylist Carrie Goldberg, Erin set out to find her dream dress, plus styling for her bridal party and entire wedding weekend. It was at Danielle Frankel where Erin found the dress that made her say “yes.” “The dress I chose almost reminded me of a petticoat that would be worn under a more elaborate dress from centuries past,” the bride shared. “It was a modern take on something old-fashioned, much like the venue and our theme as a whole!” Goldberg then helped the couple organize their bridesmaids into personalized looks for each, while still keeping a cohesive group feel. This meant mixing the perfect combination of different greens, textures, and silhouettes to make everyone look great together.
the escort wall
From an arched wood display that mimicked the windows on the manor, guests were instructed to pluck a lucky four-leaf clover with their name on it to find their table. You know we love a themed escort wall.
the cake
For the timeless wedding, the couple opted for a classic white tiered wedding cake with gilded details and sugar flower decorations that look too good to eat!
words of wisdom from the happy bride
When it came down to the planning aspect of everything, Erin couldn’t stress more how much of a difference having an amazing wedding planner made. Working with Tara Fay made a seamless and stress-free wedding planning experience an option for the couple. “Get an amazing wedding planner,” she said. “I am so grateful to never relate to anyone who talks about the stress of wedding planning.”
