the proposal
Caroline and Blake first met as acquaintances at Texas Tech and reconnected in Houston after graduation, finding themselves in the same circle of friends. Their relationship took off with ease. Blake carefully planned a surprise proposal involving both his and Caroline’s families. Under the guise of a casual dinner with his family, who were visiting Houston, Blake set the stage for an unforgettable moment. After dinner, the group returned to the Houstonian, where his parents were staying. Beneath the glow of twinkling lights and the sprawling branches of a majestic oak tree on the property, Blake got down on one knee. “I never saw it coming because I thought my parents were out of town,” Caroline admitted. The surprises didn’t stop there. After she said yes, the couple went inside to find their families waiting to celebrate at the bar. The following day, the festivities continued at the couple’s favorite Houston bar, where their closest friends gathered to surprise them yet again.
the vision: holiday magic
Under the expert eye of Allison Butcher of Keely Thorne Events, Caroline and Blake’s enchanted winter wedding offered an immersive experience of holiday magic, with installations of twinkling trees and glimmering lights. This holiday theme moved beyond the classic red and green palette, embracing ivories and golds in an endless array of elegant details. After a beautiful church ceremony, the couple returned to Houston Country Club to unveil a mesmerizing display. Garlands adorned with lights hung in every direction, while holiday trees and touches of mistletoe from Events In Bloom added to the festive ambiance. Over 300 guests gathered, dining beneath archways of white flowers.
