their love story
Katie and Andrew’s love story began back in middle school during confirmation, when Andrew turned around in his seat and told Katie, “You blink weird.” What started as a playful childhood memory grew into a lifelong bond. They became close friends in high school, stayed connected through college, and eventually found themselves living just blocks apart after graduation. Though they both insisted their hangouts were just platonic, their friends saw the sparks before they did, and soon enough, they realized they were meant to be more than friends. For date nights, Katie and Andrew love sharing a meal together or enjoying a picnic at the beach with their dog. Simple joys that reflect their easy, natural love story.
the vision: bold and romantic
On their wedding day at Lowndes Grove, they chose to honor their unique journey by breaking tradition. Rather than standing beside them, their wedding party sat during the ceremony, symbolizing the comfort of having their loved ones present without formality. Dreamed up by Ash Events, their elegant color palette of black, white, and red with pops of dark purple set the tone for a bold, romantic celebration. Katie carried a striking bouquet of red orchids, while roses, lush greenery, and more whimsical florals by Flora by Hannah filled the day with timeless beauty.
the fashion
For the elegant affair, Katie wore an elegant silk gown with a halter neckline and plunging back by Katherine Tash. She paired the look with a simple veil with delicate lace appliques and swept her long brown hair back in an effortlessly chic pony. Her bridesmaids wore an array of jewel-tone colors like magenta, plum, and deep teal. Andrew also brought his fashion A-game for the big day in a classic black tuxedo.
the cake
Guests were greeted with thoughtful details throughout the reception, from oyster shell name cards to tables adorned with fruit such as pears and grapes, adding a lively, organic touch. Their cake mirrored this abundance with fruit accents, tying together the theme of richness, joy, and love.
