Jamaican destination wedding planned by a couple who grew up there
Anji and Dylan grew up in Kingston, Jamaica — a small island where everyone seems to know everyone. As they got older, their paths continued to cross. They both attended boarding school in Connecticut and later went on to university in Boston, where they often ran into each other at larger social gatherings. It wasn’t until their final year of college that they began spending one-on-one time together, and their friendship naturally evolved into a true partnership. After six years together, Dylan surprised Anji with a trip to the charming town of San Miguel de Allende in Mexico and a proposal during a private dinner on their second night. Bold florals, radiant decor, and a marriage of heart and culture were infused into Anji and Dylan’s Jamaican destination wedding planned by Kimberley Dunkley Watkins of Dragonfly Experiences and photographed by Valeria Bross and Hamilton Multimedia. Held at a private beachside estate in Montego Bay, the celebration was inspired by Anji’s Indian heritage and the tropical setting of the island.
Hand-painted invitations
Stationery, including invitations and welcome booklets, was hand-painted by Clare Fisher Art to reflect Indian motifs and Jamaican-inspired designs.
Custom outfit inspo for the whole weekend
Anji wore custom outfits throughout the three-day celebration, each styled to reflect a different part of her identity, from richly embroidered lehengas to her elegant civil ceremony look.
Welcome party attire for the groom
In true beachy fashion, the groom welcomed guests in a slim-fit khaki suit with a white shirt and no tie.
Two cultures - two ceremonies
Two ceremonies were held to honor both families and ensure that each culture was fully represented.
Traditional Hindu wedding ceremony
The couple celebrated their Hindu wedding with traditional rituals symbolizing the journey of life together. In a moment that felt as organic as the setting itself, the ceremony faced the ocean, framed by palms along the beach, an altar adorned with florals and garlands, and the quiet anticipation of love’s next chapter.
