Fall wedding with a touch of vintage charm and a pastel color palette
For their wedding, this couple wanted to celebrate not just their love story but their culture and history too. They began the celebration with a traditional Chinese tea ceremony and then did a quick wardrobe change before heading down to the gorgeous courtyard reception. Lilac tablecloths and peach florals set a vibrant and joyful color palette for the day, while the historic venue lent a vintage vibe to the whole affair. Since the couple signed their marriage license at San Francisco City Hall months ago, they incorporated cultural elements such as a traditional Chinese tea ceremony at the Kohl Mansion instead.
the vibe: pastel fall romance
Truong and Elizabeth's California fall wedding embodies romance with a touch of vintage charm thanks to their venue Kohl Mansion. It is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful venues in the Bay Area for good reason. Experiences by K complemented the venue’s fall color palette with the right design, the venue was able to shine. The couple didn’t have a huge flower budget; therefore, we only hired a professional florist for the high-traffic area, like the sweetheart table, since many guests would want to take pictures with them there. The bride and friends ended up DIY’ing all the bud vases with careful curation to align with the florist’s work. The overall theme we were going for was nostalgic, romantic, warm, with a touch of vintage. Through different forms of lighting like uplights, string lights, taper candles, and lamps, it created a warm and romantic environment. We also had the bride and groom’s childhood photos over the years, representing the different table numbers, creating a nostalgic element. Lastly, to pair with the venue’s vintage charm, we added gold vintage frames for signage to complement it.
the fashion
For the Western wedding ceremony, Elizabeth wore an elegant tulle draped gown in a mermaid silhouette. Truong kept things timeless with a classic black tuxedo.
