their love story

winter wedding dress inspiration

Bobby and Siobhan met in the wild. Siobhan accompanied her friend, Courtney, to see a friend’s one-woman show. Bobby crossed the crowded room to say hello to Courtney’s beautiful friend (Siobhan). Bobby and Siobhan talked for two hours that night. The next day, Bobby reached out to Siobhan via Facebook Messenger and asked her out. Siobhan said yes. The rest, as they say, is history. Siobhan is an attorney. She works for the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office as an Assistant District Attorney/Assistant General Counsel. Bobby is an actor and a comedian. Siobhan also has a Master’s Degree in Theatre. Siobhan and Bobby definitely bonded over their shared love of theatre. They currently live in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood of Manhattan and take advantage of being so close to all of the Broadway theaters by purchasing rush tickets to shows for date nights. Siobhan and Bobby also share a love of jet skiing. Siobhan and Bobby complement each other well. Siobhan is organized, thoughtful, and empathetic, but can get caught up in her own internal thoughts and anxieties. Bobby is flexible and a “go with the flow” type of man. Bobby makes Siobhan laugh and relax, and Siobhan makes Bobby more compassionate and thoughtful.

the vision: winter wonderland

Our venue was Tappan Hill Mansion in Tarrytown, New York, which overlooks the Hudson River. The aisle had a white carpet, lined with lanterns containing candles and beautiful arrangements of white flowers by Forever in Bloom. At the ceremony, Siobhan and Bobby had a chuppah that had shelves filled with candles. The chuppah was lined across the top and down the shelves with white flowers.

To complete the aesthetic of a winter wonderland, JoAnn Gregoli brought in crystal-cut glasses to reflect the candlelight around the ballroom. Siobhan and Bobby also brought in silver tablecloths, platinum glass chargers, and silver chairs with white cushions. The couple sat at a sweetheart table with a floral meadow at the bottom that appeared to be growing up. The other tables had three types of centerpieces. The first had a tall crystal stand with Phalaenopsis orchids, Hawaiian dendrobium orchids, Thai dendrobium orchids, fringed tulips, roses, stock, hydrangeas, and asparagus smilax with and candle. The second centerpiece was low-footed bowls with white flowers and glass orbs of various sizes containing candles installed from the ceiling over the table. A trip of halo glass filled with water and topped with a floating candle finished this design. The third centerpiece was three amaryllis glass-stemmed candle holders filled with water and submerged dendrobium orchids and floating candles. At the base of the candles, three silver vases filled with white flowers, including Phalaenopsis orchids, dendrobium orchids, roses, fringed tulips, hydrangea, and stock. We wanted three distinct designs that would allow people sitting at the tables to easily talk to each other. We didn’t want people to be obscured by the centerpieces.

comfort first

On a more practical level, Siobhan and Bobby did their very best to make their guests feel special. Guests were greeted with both cold and hot beverage offerings upon arrival. The ceremony was outdoors. Luckily, the temperature was hovering around fifty degrees. Siobhan and Bobby ensured that guests had faux fur blankets, hand warmers, and pashmina wraps available to them in order to make them comfortable outside. They also rented heaters that were fanned out around the periphery of the outdoor ceremony area. Siobhan and Bobby felt very strongly about ensuring their guests had everything they could possibly need or want. To that end, they created kits for each bathroom with over-the-counter pain relievers, cold medicines, antacids/anti-nausea/anti-heartburn medicines, brushes, combs, makeup remover, hair ties, stain remover, safety pins, bobby pins, wipes, and more. Siobhan and Bobby also provided flat shoes (from rescue flats) for their female guests who wanted to trade in their heels for comfortable flats to dance.

the fashion

Siobhan wore two wedding dresses. The main wedding dress was designed by Rita Vinieris and purchased from Kleinfeld’s. The Rita Vinieris "Emma" dress was the second dress Siobhan tried on at Kleinfeld’s (her first bridal appointment). The dress was perfect, but Siobhan didn’t like lace and 3D flowers. Siobhan’s consultant, Morgan, called James Brown, one of the designers who works with Rita Vinieris and partners with Kleinfeld, and asked if they could do the Emma dress with the Teagan fabric. James Brown loved the idea, and Siobhan’s dress was set. Her dress is the design of tht "Emma" dress from the Spring 2023 collection. The dress, however, was made with the pearl lace fabric from Rita Vinieris’s Teagan dress. Siobhan added a bow at the back of the dress in the Teagan fabric as well. On their wedding day, Siobhan had a handkerchief her mother got her with royal blue writing, pinned into her dress. Siobhan wore a pearl-dotted veil with a blusher over her face as she walked down the aisle. Siobhan’s second dress was purchased from the Galia Lahav boutique in SOHO. Siobhan selected the Leonie dress from Galia Lahav’s GALA Encanto collection. Siobhan asked for the back to be raised and also asked for the sides to be lined with ivory. She also had a custom hooded cape made with the pearl lace from Rita Vinieris, designed by Francesca DiSpirito. It gave Snow White/Little Red Riding Hood Bridal vibes. Siobhan wore rented jewelry from Verstolo– the "Savannah" style earrings with the Rita Vinieris dress and the "Petit Ivy" earrings with the Galia Lahav dress.

Siobhan provided faux furs and leather gloves to her bridesmaids to wear with their floor-length sequined dresses. Siobhan also provided insulated fleece-lined tights for the bridesmaids to wear during the outdoor ceremony. They all wore silver shoes and Swarovski jewelry provided by Siobhan from Swarovski’s Mesmera collection. Bobby’s tuxedo was a midnight navy custom tuxedo created by Enzo in Manhattan. He wore a navy and royal blue paisley tie that was made in Lake Como.

the first dance

Siobhan and Bobby did a choreographed dance as their first dance and had a blast doing it. Their song is “It Had to Be You”. Both are huge fans of the movie When Harry Met Sally. “It had to be you” was also printed onto the interior envelopes of their wedding invitation (that had orchids embossed into it and also had the comedy and tragedy masks hidden in the orchid design). The orchid design from the invitations was used to create two dance floors. The first had a white background, the orchid design was in black around the border, and the SB duogram was in the middle of the floor.

the after party

The wedding experience in itself was also very special. We had the entire venue to ourselves. We set up the second ballroom as a “club” atmosphere for the New Year’s Eve afterparty. We had blue uplighting, silver orbs on the ceiling, white furniture, and table coverings. At midnight, confetti canons went off. During the reception, cold fireworks went off when Siobhan and Bobby entered the ballroom after being announced for the first time. Cold fireworks also went off as Siobhan and Bobby cut their wedding cake. To complete the guest experience, we had a glamour filter photobooth with a silver background. We also provided glasses, hats, and noisemakers for the New Year’s Eve celebration. We also had a large silver 2025 in the afterparty room that people could take photos in front of. Two artists were at the wedding and drew customized sketches of guests as a souvenir.

a drone show

drone show for wedding in new york

Siobhan’s mother surprised Siobhan and Bobby with an epic drone show. Three hundred drones dotted the sky over the ceremony site and changed shapes to moments of Siobhan’s and Bobby’s relationship (their engagement), things Siobhan & Bobby both love (comedy and tragedy masks), aspects integral to Siobhan and Bobby (scales of justice for Siobhan and a baseball player hitting a ball for Bobby, who loves baseball almost as much as he loves Siobhan). Everyone was wowed and speechless when the drone show began. It was truly such a special moment.

dessert

The cake was delicious and made by Lulu’s Cake Boutique in Scarsdale, New York. Siobhan and Bobby selected the James Bond flavor. It was a Tuxedo chocolate and vanilla cake with chocolate chip cheesecake filling and cream cheese frosting. Bobby also loves carrot cake. Siobhan and Bobby got a carrot cake from Lassen & Hennig’s in Brooklyn Heights (the best carrot cake in the world, according to Bobby) and served it to guests as a “groom’s cake”. We also had an eight-flavor gelato cart from Dolce & Gelato. We offered nut-free, gluten-free, vegan options with the gelato cart as well to ensure everyone had a flavor of gelato that they could safely consume.
