the vision: blooming with joy
From the very beginning, we envisioned an outdoor wedding by the water, beneath a tent, surrounded by the beauty of nature. That dream became a breathtaking reality with our celebration at the Whalehead Club in the Outer Banks. With our last name being Bloom, we knew florals had to take center stage. We kept the overall aesthetic clean and timeless—crisp white linens, classic table settings, and subtle pops of color brought to life through vibrant florals, glowing candles, and elegant water goblets. Pop Clink Events and Renee Landry perfectly captured our vision of understated elegance, adorning long table runners with lush blooms and draping greenery from the tent, creating a truly magical ambiance.
Planning a wedding takes a village, and we’re endlessly grateful to every vendor who helped bring our vision to life. From our talented planner to the two gentlemen we found through the OBX Wedding Facebook page who provided backup transportation, every detail came together seamlessly. We wouldn’t change a thing and wouldn’t hesitate to do it all over again!
the venue
Choosing Whalehead felt like fate. We wanted to be near the water without the challenges of a beach wedding, and this venue offered the perfect blend of history, charm, and convenience. The peninsula provided a stunning ceremony backdrop, the lawn was ideal for our tented reception, and our guests were able to turn our wedding into a beachside getaway. We also fell in love with Whalehead’s story—it was originally a hunting club gifted as a wedding present after traditional hunt clubs didn’t allow women. How sweet is that?
getting ready
The bride and her besties took in some sun on the porch while they sipped champagne and lounged in matching blue pajama sets. We can't get enough of this adorable ring shot too, (you'll def want to pin this pose for your own big day)!
the fashion
With delicate off-the-shoulder draping, the bride wore an elegant mermaid gown paired with a playful tulle veil with 3-D flower petals scattered along the length. Picking up on the blush in the color palette, the bridesmaids wore mix-and-match dresses in a light and airy chiffon. The groom, in a tan suit and white button-down, completely nailed the vibe for the day.
the cake
The couple opted for a simple heart-shaped cake decorated in a Lambeth style with "Just Married" written across the top.
