the vision: 90s elegance
Starting with a ceremony at golden hour, guests arrived at the Ritz Carlton Marina Del Rey to find a long white aisle framed by clouds of baby's breath arrangements culminating in a dramatic floral chuppah. Mizbaan Event Planning brought the couple's vision of 90s opulence to life with monochromatic florals, plenty of crystal, and touches of deep green. Renaissance Flowers Plus went all out on these incredible baby's breath installations, from the canopy hovering over the table to the tree that framed the cake.
the fashion
The bride was channeling royal vibes in this dramatic ballgown by Berta. The long, off-the-shoulder sleeves kept the look elegant while the low back and corset detail added a sexy twist. She paired the look with a long veil to really amp up the drama. The groom went all in on the black-tie dress code with a double-breasted tuxedo, black bow tie, and a dramatic shawl lapel.
the bar
Guests were treated to wine, beer, and a selection of signature cocktails. They also had a "Zero Proof" section of the bar menu for guests who didn't want to drink alcohol but wanted something more celebratory than sparkling water. We're seeing more and more couples becoming conscious of the fact that not everyone drinks alcohol and offering fun mocktails like these.
a surprise performance
Just when the party started to wind down, there was a surprise performance by the USC Trojan Marching Band, followed by late-night disco-head performers keeping the party going until 2 AM!
the cake
The couple cut into a towering, five-tier wedding cake decorated in white fondant with abstract sculptural draping. But while this cake may look traditional from the outside, it's what's inside that counts...and what was inside was CARROT CAKE!!! Yum...
