This couple threw a valentine’s day-themed wedding at their home!
We've seen our share of backyard weddings, but it has been a while since we've come across an indoor wedding at home, and we have to say, we're in love! Maybe it's the Valentine's Day theme, or the fact that this couple's home matched the vibe soooo perfectly, but this wedding is giving us all the feels. their love story
We were set up by a mutual friend who is actually the same person who set us up with Elise Dunn! We bonded over our shared core values of authenticity, community, and having FUN. We are both St. Louis natives who have a deep love for this small, unique city, and we look forward to growing a family here.
the venue: home sweet home
I think the most unique thing about our wedding day is that we had the entire wedding, from start to finish, in our house. Thanks to Cultivated Events Co., our house was turned into three different spaces throughout the day: a ceremony space, a seated dinner for 20, and a raging after-party for 60+. Because it was so small, we were able to curate an incredibly special day with the dearest people in our lives. Our home feels christened with love, laughter, and so much fun.
the vision: valentine's day disco
Hanging disco balls and deep red florals by Three French Hens - Wildwood set the tone for the day during the intimate ceremony. Then, as the sun began to fade, the candlelight took over, and let us tell you, it was a vibe! The red-on-red-on-red tablescape, the moody ribbons, and heart-shaped place cards—one word comes to mind: passion.
getting ready
Ever on-theme, Paige wore an adorable pajama set embroidered with little red hearts. Even though the couple decided not to do the traditional wedding party, it really made the photos to have all the bride's besties wearing the same vibrant shade of red! We also love that, even though the venue was laid-back, the men still wore tuxes. This wedding is proof that the fashion sets the tone for the day.
the looks
As a hairstylist myself, I was obviously particular about the glam team. Stacey and Corinne both have a shared talent of making you feel like the most beautiful version of yourself and giving the wedding party the same care and attention to detail, which was a must for me. We didn't have a traditional wedding party because it was so small, but all our guests were requested to wear some shade of red to really lean into our Valentine's Day theme.
the cake
Leaning into the 60s aesthetic, the couple opted for a simple coconut cake topped with chocolate-covered strawberries. They displayed the cake on an adorable heart-themed cake stand that we sincerely hope they kept for themselves, because how cute would it be to break this baby out for every anniversary?!
words of wisdom from the happy couple
Whether your wedding is big or micro like ours (only 20 people), find vendors who are excited & inspired to help make your day special and EASY. We were able to be so present with each other & our guests because of their professionalism, and created something so authentic to us because of their creativity. Our wedding coordinator led the charge and made it easy for our other vendors to make our non-traditional wedding come to life.
