Garden party wedding at Saskatoon Farm inspired by vintage whimsy
Kim and Michael met through Tinder and had their first date at the Rec Room in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. From the first time Michael saw Kim waiting in line, he knew he was totally head over heels for this girl. And when he found out Kim loved cats, he immediately made the decision to stock up on allergy medicine! After several years of dating, Michael proposed to Kim at the base of Mount Fuji on a romantic trip to Japan. Kim had always wanted a colorful, pastel wedding with lots of greenery and flowers, natural light, and a bit of a vintage vibe. Hosted at Saskatoon Farm, this wedding perfectly fit her vision, full of dainty pastels and whimsical vintage details, all of them found by the bride herself.
Invitation inspo: vintage garden party
The bride designed the invitation suite herself, focusing on a lavender-gray and white floral theme with colorful vintage watercolor inserts.
Classic bridal style - colorful bridal party
Kim wore a strapless classic ballgown from Mountain View Bridal with a chic textured blusher. Her bridesmaids wore colorful pastel gowns in a variety of colors and patterns, tied together by their bouquets in pinks, whites, blues, and yellows.
On trend: silk flowers
Kim also wanted to ensure that her florals would last forever, which is why she decided to use Two Whimsical Florists and silk flowers for her bouquets and floral arrangements. It was impossible to tell they weren't real florals!
Outdoor ceremony under an arbor
The ceremony was hosted outdoors under a wooden arbor. They opted for two white pillars with lush arrangements on top, and a burlap aisle runner led the couple back up the aisle after exchanging their vows. Green hanging plants added an element of luxe garden style, and these same plants reappeared later during the reception.
