Do these LED face masks actually work? We did a deep dive
Ask any beauty expert, and they’ll tell you that the key to that bridal glow starts with a solid skincare routine. And, if you’re looking to upgrade your self-care, then we’re sure you’ve seen LED masks all over your FYP–us too! So, we obviously needed to do a deep dive and see what they were all about, and here’s what we found!
There are a ton of different brands on the market, but the one with the most consistently good reviews is Omnilux. Omnilux is recognized as the world leader in medical-grade LED light therapy devices. It is the most tested and trusted brand of LED systems, with over 40 peer-reviewed published clinical studies and more FDA-cleared indications than any other LED brand. They have a few different systems, designed to target specific skin care needs, like the Omnilux Clear, designed to target and clear acne, and the Contour Collection, designed to tone and rejuvenate the skin.
For wedding research purposes, we decided to dive into the Omnilux Contour Face. This red light therapy mask treats everything from redness, dark spots, and uneven skin tone and texture to fine lines, wrinkles, and sun damage. It’s Clinically Proven to help reduce signs of fatigue and aging–sounds like exactly what every bride needs to recover from the bachelorette weekend 😂. In addition to helping you recover, it’s also perfect for general maintenance. Omnilux Contour Face is proven to soothe inflammation and redness. Unlike other invasive in-office procedures, Omnilux masks are pain-free, and there are no risky side effects or downtime!
how does it work
If you were raised in the early 2000s, it can be difficult to believe that anything that doesn’t feel like it’s peeling your skin off actually works–where are our Stridex baddies? So, to be sure, we had to get technical. The Omnilux Contour Face uses 633nm (red) and 830nm (near-infrared) infrared wavelengths that work on a cellular level to stimulate new collagen. So instead of painful, pricey, and risky collagen injections, you can help your body generate its own collagen naturally! This is what fills in the wrinkles and helps repair skin, leaving your face looking brighter and healthier.
the ideal routine
Take the guesswork out of your bridal skin care routine and simply follow the recommendations from Omnilux. They say you should see the best results when you do three to five 10-minute treatments per week for 4-6 weeks. Then, you can simply follow up with maintenance whenever you feel like your face could use a little pick-me-up.
