This wedding in Lake Como with a storm as a backdrop was a whole vibe
The vision for this Lake Como wedding was one of timeless elegance: clean lines, neutral tones, and refined details that would still feel as sophisticated fifty years from now as they do today. Federico and Becky wanted the atmosphere to exude understated luxury while remaining warm, welcoming, and deeply personal. One of their first trips together was to the lake in 2021, where the breathtaking landscape left a lasting impression. For Federico, born and raised in Italy, it felt like the only place to propose. In August 2024, he proposed at Villa d’Este in Cernobbio. With a storm dramatically in the distance, they exchanged vows at Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni, captured on camera by Julia Kaptelova Photography with luxe florals by Flowers and Me.
Featured designer: Martina Liliana
Becky wore a Martina Liliana gown, a timeless silhouette that paired perfectly with classic Jimmy Choo heels. Her look was completed with diamond jewelry, a Cartier engagement ring and wedding band, and the iconic Chanel No. 5 fragrance, an ode to understated elegance.
Groom's style: bespoke Italian tuxedo
Federico chose a bespoke tuxedo from a boutique in Milan, complemented by Gucci tuxedo shoes, Cartier wedding band and cufflinks, and a vintage-inspired Rolex Cellini watch. He finished his look with Dior Sauvage cologne, balancing refinement with modern sophistication.
Music: from strings to stylistic energy
Music played a key role for the event. Strings (cello and violin) carried the couple and their guests through the ceremony and aperitivo with graceful intimacy, while a live band transitioned the evening into a celebration with both Italian and international classics. The blend of languages and styles created an energy that felt inclusive yet elevated, perfectly mirroring who Federico and Becky are as a couple.

Dramatic stormy portraits
Just after the ceremony, the couple took to the lake in a Riva Ariston for portraits. In true Lake Como fashion, the skies opened into a dramatic thunderstorm. Rather than spoiling the moment, it created one of the most unforgettable memories of the day. Their photographer, Julia Kaptelova, was in the boat with them, soaked and smiling as she continued shooting. The storm transformed the light into something cinematic and moody, producing some of the couple’s favorite images.
Rain's good luck with a great photographer
Becky changed into her second gown early, while Federico—ever prepared—had brought not one, but two tuxedos. “It’s a crazy story we’ll remember forever,” they laughed. Julia’s artistry, dedication, and eye for light made her an integral part of the day. “She was simply phenomenal,” Becky and Federico recall. “After being drenched with us, she took 15 minutes to dry off and was right back to capturing the rest of our wedding. Her ability to blend genuine emotion with artistic direction made our story come alive through her lens.”
Michelin-star food & fine wine
Food was central to the celebration, as well. Federico’s Italian heritage and the couple's shared love of cooking meant that quality and authenticity mattered. Villa Serbelloni’s Mistral restaurant, formerly Michelin-starred, offered the perfect setting to showcase local ingredients and refined presentation. The celebration began with a traditional Italian aperitivo, elegant finger foods paired with signature cocktails named with playful romantic nods: Ciao Bella, Ti Amo and Baciami. Dinner focused on fewer courses but impeccable quality, from champagne-poached crustaceans to truffle raviolo and a perfectly seared beef fillet. Guests enjoyed carefully chosen Italian wines, including Ca’ del Bosco spumante from Lombardy - Federico’s favorite.
Combined father-daughter, mother-son dance
Instead of two separate dances, the newlyweds shared an intimate dance together with their parents.
